Queen Sonja visited UWC Red Cross Nordic in Fjaler

Queen Sonja of Norway visited United World College (UWC) Red Cross Nordic in Fjaler on the occasion of its 30th anniversary and attended the anniversary events held on September 27–28. The school has a strong partnership with the Red Cross, and Queen Sonja is its patron. Around 200 students from about 90 nations came together for the celebration. United World College (UWC) is a global educational movement.

    This is a striking and colour-balanced look for Sonja - but for my taste it reminds me a little too much of the late Queen Elizabeth's style (the contrasting buttons and collar) or even Queen Silvia's style (the pussy bow neckline).I would prefer to see her wearing jacket and pants in one colour - and with less black. She looks fabulous in the mixed variety of colours of the traditional dress shown here. Lyra

      Indeed, Ava.
      The Queen looks fabulous both in her cinnamon coloured jacket/cropped blazer with contrasting black lapels and buttons and in her traditional gear.

    The Bunad is lovely but the first ensemble looks dated somehow. In any case, Sonia is a wonderful Queen.

      I don't think her jacket looks dated. These type of jackets in this color are still present in the Autumn-Winter collection of 2025-2026.
      I admire Queen Sonia very much, always so courageous. Her hair is always styled so beautifully. One can see on these pictures that she is executing her duties whith a lot of enthusiasm.

    Une veste couleur feuille d'automne et que je trouve jolie avec le col noir. Le pantalon noir la complète bien. J'aime moins le foulard (trop géométrique à mon goût) et j'aurais préféré un pull noir plutôt qu'un chemisier à col noué bien trop classique.
    Les reines et princesses semblent adorer ce genre de chemisier, on en voit beaucoup, ça doit être un style royal ;-) Je trouve ça un peu démodé.
