On the afternoon of Tuesday, September 30, 2025, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands paid a working visit to the Cultural Fund (Cultuurfonds). The visit took place in Hengelo, at the RIBO (Restoration and Innovation in Construction) practical training center in Overijssel, where young people are trained in traditional crafts such as woodworking and stone carving. The Cultural Fund invests in heritage and the preservation of crafts and contributed to the establishment of the RIBO training center.
At RIBO, young people learn how to restore monuments using traditional techniques. Craftsmanship is essential for the preservation of windmills, historic gardens, castles, and estates. By investing in knowledge transfer and the training of artisanal skills, the center makes a significant contribution to safeguarding Dutch cultural heritage.
Queen Máxima visited the RIBO workshop and spoke with young trainees, their teachers, and experienced craftspeople. The students demonstrated their work in fields such as woodworking and furniture restoration. The Queen also met with heritage specialists and representatives of heritage organizations to discuss various aspects of restoration practices.

ReplyDeleteGossiping about wigs, extensions or other attached parts should be offtopic here, in the name of decent behaviour towards the persons whose outfits we discuss.
Delete@Anonymous 23:00 I disagree. This is a fashion blog. Hairstyles are part of fashion. DB
DeleteThis question is irrelevant as we all know Queen Maxima only wears hair extensions when she must be in full gala outfit.
DeleteYes she does have hair extensions, it's one reason why her hair looks so unkept most of the time. If she got a bob-cut, or shortened the length, it would look so much better for someone in her position. It is not gossiping, nor is it inappropriate behavior, it's simply a fact of life.
DeleteAnon 23:00 it is not gossip hair is part of fashion. Having said that her hair is what it is and she has it in a nice length.
Delete23:00 I agree 100%. All body-related critique should be disallowed. I cringe when I see commenters write about hair, body shape, bras/underwear, etc here in relation to royal women and worst, young royals. It is indecent.
DeleteAs many as you have
DeleteHair styles are part of fashion, and nothing wrong with wigs & hair extensions. They become a necessity as we get older.
DeleteAgain with her hair?? Not every woman is blessed with perfect hair. I'd rather see it up or pulled back most times but, it's not up to me or to anyone else. I understand the elements play a part, but this constant harassment of her hair is petty.
Deletelearn some decency
DeleteHer hair is fab.
DeleteAnon 22:06 Why does it matter? It is common knowledge that her hair is thinner than it was when she was younger. Instead of accepting that there are any number of reasons why that can happen, her hair continues to be a point of discussion. Anon 10:16 is correct. We have reached the point where it has become harassment. Constantly commenting about a part of her body that she cannot control is bullying behavior.
DeleteI disagree with Anon 5:13 bras and underwear. Undergarments are something that are chosen to be worn, not a part of the body, and there are many well-fitting options available. The correct undergarment enhances the overall look of an outfit, while poor fitting undergarments detract from a polished appearance. That being said, the comment that all body related critiques should be disallowed in the comments is spot on.
Lastly, Anon 2:14, she is not wearing extensions. If you take the time to educate yourself about extensions, you would know that. It is obvious by looking. Extensions would give her a much fuller head of hair. You are completely incorrect that her hair, or anyone else's hair, looks more unkempt because of them. Finally, chopping off her hair is not the solution. Keeping the ends trimmed helps the health of the hair and can make it look thicker, but it is still thin hair. Cutting it short only serves to remove any options she has to put her hair up, which is usually a good option for her and fairly necessary for formal events.
Harassing a woman and skimming on indirect stalking is not any fact of life or fashion- related.
DeleteIt has legal relevance
Lack of decency is a fact.
Harassment and direct or indirect stalking are criminal offences pertaining to criminal law
DeleteShe doesn't have know how about h--r.
DeleteAlso royals, man, women any age and minors via their parents have access to the internet and can take legal actions on the grounds of offences against them.
DeleteWhere is freedom of speech?? Guess.
Delete@Anon 18:41 "Freedom of speech" is not an excuse for rude and inappropriate behavior. Instead of hiding behind the excuse of free speech, try living by The Golden Rule. You would not like a physical feature of yours being picked apart and analyzed negatively for content on an international platform, year after year. She may be a queen but she is just as human as the rest of us.
Delete18:41- your freedom of speech ends when it consists of repeated taunting, hurtful, derogatory critiques on people's right to be as they want to be including their hair.
DeleteAt that point it is harassment and bullying , that is criminal offences.
It is up to you to take on the responsibility of your comments.
Educate yourself instead of hiding vile attacks behind a screen.
You can be easily identified.
07:59 sounds harsh be a little bit soft hearted please.
Delete@ 09:58 Really?!
DeleteYou were harsh and your remarks toward a public figure nowhere near to "soft hearted".
Face the truth of your bullying behaviour and do not play the victim behind your screen.
Enough with your pantomime.
Anger doesn't get anything.
DeleteThis outfit looks really good on her. I especially like these boots: very cool with a snakeprint on the back.
ReplyDeleteDamsel Dragonfly
Agree…they are different and pretty fabulous.
Deletethe boots look part of the crafts
DeleteFaboulous boots!!!
DeleteI love this outfit, she looks very stylish, and chic. The boots are especially great, the print on the back is unusual, and is very becoming.
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty, except the hair…….
ReplyDeleteA previous commenter stated it bordered on stalking, to discuss hair. What a silly comment. This is a fashion blog, clothing, undergarments, hair, (good or bad), hats, bags, shoes, coats, jewelry, makeup, etc. are all part/parcel of fashion. The King's wife, does not usually take care of the hair she has, it looks messy, un-brushed, and hair extensions look bad, contributing to the stringy hair she already has. She CAN pull it back in a low pony tail, or have her hairdresser do it for her, she does this on occasion, yet leaves it a mess most of the time. Really rather sad for someone in her position.
Delete@ Anonymous 16:49
DeleteTry to say that it is silly to a lawyer.
You don't understand how seriously your words can be taken if a legal action starts.
Bullying behaviours, endless harassment, indirect stalking aiming at offending public figures for their body features, including hair, deserve utmost attention and mustn't have any reason to be published on a fashion blog.
All your blathering is no use in case of a legal action.
If you can't understand that, a lawyer can clear it all up for you.
Now quit your bad behaviour once and for all or face any consequence that should ensue from your bullying comments.
I agree!
Delete@16:49 May I suggest you allow us to see a picture of you and let us have a go at your appearance. I don't think you would like brutal honesty aimed at you. You may not be as thick skinned as you think you are.
Delete@ 01:24
DeleteShe would collapse and burst into tears if confronted with brutal honesty aimed at her, just like all weak, frustrated keyboard warriors would do.
They can't stand other people's judgments aimed at them.
They are just fragile paper warriors, the more so when they are formally held responsible for bullying behaviours in criminal proceedings.
At that point, their screen bravery crumples and they become nothing but lifeless puppets.
Each piece of clothing here does not attract me … but when Maxima wears them, and with her height and presence, she creates a fantastic outfit.
ReplyDeleteSame for me
DeleteTrès belle couleur de la tenue mais je ne suis fan de la texture de la jupe ; l'imprimé serpent à l'arrière des bottes apporte une touche originale !
ReplyDeleteIn pics #4 & #5, the colors are different shades. I don't like this outfit. It's not attractive, nor are the boots. Looks like she had fun.
ReplyDeleteMaxima looks lovely and the Lady in Pink!
ReplyDeleteI like the skirt and blouse, but I find the boots a bit tacky for a queen
Bottes, jupe, blouse …
-Astrid .
The standout piece for me here is the top, or blouse. I like the way it falls, which I suspect is due to both the cut and the fabric. It looks pleasingly continuous with few visible seams. I also like the dark colour which I think adds to the stylish look, and am imagining it worn with dark, straight-legged trousers.
ReplyDelete- Anon 9:13
It's really unacceptable to wear snakeskin anymore. Besides, it's not very tasteful, more like something for a hard rocker.
ReplyDelete...and a queen. You do understand the concept of faux snakeskin, right?
DeleteI like this combination and color.
