On September 3, 2025, Queen Mary of Denmark presented the 2025 Carlsberg Foundation Research Prizes and attended a gala dinner at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen. On this occasion, Queen Mary wore a floral-print silk crêpe de chine blouse from Etro, styled with matching wide-leg trousers in printed silk satin crêpe.
Upon her arrival at the Glyptotek, Her Majesty was received by Majken Schultz, Chair of the Carlsberg Foundation, Christina Egelund, Minister for Higher Education and Science, and Mette Birkedal Bruun, Chair of the Prize Committee.
This year’s recipients of the Carlsberg Foundation Research Prizes were Professor Klaus Mølmer of the Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen and Professor Claes Holger de Vreese, Head of the Digital Democracy Centre at the University of Southern Denmark.
Professor Klaus Mølmer was honored for his groundbreaking research in theoretical quantum optics and mechanics, while Professor Claes Holger de Vreese received the award for his extensive and internationally recognized research into the role of algorithms and artificial intelligence in democratic processes.
I love the blouse, but not sure about the trousers. The whole outfit is elegant, and it fits her so well, but the design is still dangerously close to pyjama territory. I would have preferred plain black trousers of the same cut, or a knee-length A-line skirt, also in plain black or possibly in purple/lilac picking up the colour of the blouse.
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit, fresh, young and a bit sexy.
ReplyDeleteJoin you in the applause for Mary!
DeleteSuch a good choice!
She dares and is still stylish!
I like the colours of this outfit, but the heavy wrinkles ruin the whole look unfortunately. Nice necklace.
ReplyDeleteI do not see "heavy wrinkles". I clicked on each picture to make the format larger and I just found a couple of wrinkles around her hips because she probably sat down in a car to arrive at the premises. The other ladies have more wrinkles in their dresses than Mary.
DeleteDid you look at them with magnifying glasses ?
DeleteWrinkles? There are only creases from sitting. Silk, like other natural fabrics, will do that. She is hardly unkempt.
DeleteThat's why I like Etro so much. Mary looks stunning! (But then of cause she looks good in everything.)
ReplyDeleteYes she does Coralie, even in a potato sack!
DeleteC'est joli, mais j'aurais préféré ce haut avec une jupe.
ReplyDeleteA new colour suits her very well ❤️
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately the placement of the bright flowers distract from the shape and outline of the outfit, making it appear pyjama-like and shapeless, even though it isn't. And the fabric also seems to be creasing a lot across the hips. However I do like her modern necklace. Lyra
ReplyDeleteI live the wrap top,but with the patterned trouser doesn’t quite hit the mark. Maybe with a plain trouser,or a plain top and the trouser. But both together looks a little too busy.
ReplyDeleteLowri.
Très joli cet imprimé floral que j’aurais bien vu porté sur un pantalon ou une jupe de couleur unie comme par exemple lie-de-vin ou autre !
ReplyDeleteWe adapted men's wear (pants) for women's wear, maybe patterns don't have to belong forever to pajama-territory :-)). This one does not have pajama vibes for me at all, probably because the pattern is not overwhelming or allover on the pants, it is even less than on the top. It just signalizes that top and bottom belong together (as it would if it was a skirt). Mary looks wonderful in it.
ReplyDeleteThe blue dress on the lady at left is absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteEntièrement d'accord avec votre commentaire. La dame en bleu est très classe et distinguée
DeleteThanks for pointing her out - she is very beautifully outfitted!
DeleteHer necklace is beautiful. I wonder if the stone is an Australian opal. I like the floral pattern of the wrap top but would have preferred black/dark trousers with it.
ReplyDeleteI like the overall look, she will be able to pair the top to skirts and pants for rewears. The fabric does not work well for the pants, creases very easily from sitting. The placement of the floral design on the sleeves could be a little higher and a few inches shorter for her arms. A lovley look for her.
ReplyDeleteThis outfit could have potentially looked like pajamas, but on Mary it does not. Perhaps her interesting and pretty necklace is what keeps this outfit from looking like pajamas to me.

This is a lovely outfit and suits well. I especially love the top. Her necklace is effective and attractive.
ReplyDeleteI like this two piece outfit and unique necklace. There is more black background and a small amount of floral, so it keeps it simpler this way. But this crepe obviously wrinkles badly around the hips and thighs.
ReplyDeleteI like this pantsuit, it's sleek and sophisticated.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't change a thing.
The wide- legged pants have the right width to make walking and movements gently elegant, I'd say.
The floral print isn't busy so it looks more eye- catching against the black background.
The necklace is a statement jewel itself.
Perfect makeup and hairstyle as well.
The lady in the blue dress is fabulous ,too.
