The Danish Home of Chicago is a small, exclusive non-profit retirement home for seniors. It was founded in 1891 by twelve Danish women with a vision to support elderly people who had emigrated from Denmark to the Chicago area. Today, The Danish Home also serves as a cultural gathering place for the Danish community in Chicago.

  1. Welcome to our beautiful city, Princess Marie! I think that both outfits look great on her!

Wow. I am so happy to see Princess Marie wearing this colourful dress. Her figure doesn't need a high waistline; but she looks so glowing in these red tones, that this is a minor detail. Hoping to see her in more bright dresses. Lyra

Love the color on her. The style of the dress isn't my taste, but she is lovely and it's good to see her contributing.

Wow. Princess Marie, such a beautiful, elegant and well dressed princess.
I like all the clothes she is wearing on these pictures. It looks like she also changed something at the frills on the sleeves of the white/pink dress.

  5. Tout de suite mon choix se porte sur la robe en soie volantée, imprimée sur fond blanc ; la fine ceinture apporte une petite touche d'élégance !

She looks so pretty in this floral print, which works because instead of a blotchy, “big flower print” effect, the floral areas are connected in an attractive, visually dynamic way. Marie is a lovely and effective goodwill ambassadress. — Jane

The dress is okay, could be a tad longer, I assume red and white to reflect the colours of Denmark.
Nice that it is a retirement home and cultural gathering place.

I prefer to separate the cause/activity/likeability of the person from the fashion aspect. Marie is a lovely person, but that fluffy-frilly floral dress is anything but good on anyone up from the age of about 8, nothing can excuse or justify wearing it in my opinion. She is at home with French chic and exactly that is her second outfit.

Paloma.

It’s always lovely to see Princess Marie attend events. She comes across as a very warm genuine lady.
Fashion wise I the Valli dress has been in her closet for a while. I love the red and white obviously a nod to the Danish flag,I just think the belt spoils it.
The second ensemble is lovely and perfectly flattering.

Princess Marie never disappoints. She is always elegant, fashionably dressed whether in high end designer clothing or mid and low range , like Hugo Boss and Zara, respectively. She is like a rare jewel representing Denmark, and often overshadowed.

I've never found a coat like this at Zara in Italy! In fact, I've never found anything there. I don't know which Zara these women shop at. Irene
