On September 14, 2025, Princess Kako of Japan attended the opening ceremony of the 12th National High School Sign Language Performance Koshien, held at Acepack Miraichūshin in Kurayoshi City, Tottori Prefecture. A day earlier, she visited a welfare facility in Yurihama, where she joined residents with disabilities in playing boccia, and later viewed exhibitions at the newly opened Tottori Prefectural Museum of Art.
The competition has been held annually since 2014 to promote sign language among people without hearing impairments by showcasing the communication skills of high school students. She has attended the event since its inception, except during her period of study abroad. On this occasion, she wore a midi skirt from Akiko Ogawa’s Spring/Summer 2025 Collection.

ردحذفI love the blouse and skirt combo for Princess Kako. I don't even mind that it is a bit too long, because she can carry off the look of the skirt quite well. This bold splash of color shows off her youthfulness and vibrance. Interesting that she embraces a more "trendy" fashion when going to community and charitable events/organizations on her own, versus the more traditional attire for imperial family events.
