On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, Princess Anne visited the Naval Children’s Charity in Portsmouth, Hampshire, to celebrate its 200th anniversary. Each year, the charity supports several thousand young people from naval families, focusing on children’s wellbeing and development. Queen Elizabeth II was patron of the charity for over 70 years, having become its patron in 1945. This was Princess Anne’s first visit since becoming the charity’s patron.
I like Princess Anne navy blue and green outfit, however the jacket is too long for her, a shorter jacket would have look much better.

Great green and navy combo, even though the jacket is a little wrinkled. I personally wish she would lose the gloves. I don’t think she is going to get germs by shaking hands. Unless they are leather for truly cold weather or for evening state banquets, I think they are best left home.
ReplyDeleteI'm always happy to see Anne wearing brighter colours as opposed to neutrals and earth colours. This spring green is a great choice. I agree that the jacket woudl be better if shorter. Lyra
ReplyDeleteThis color combination works well, she looks lovely, I particularly love her longer style jacket.
ReplyDeleteNo,no,no ! The jacket is very elegant.
ReplyDeleteI would not be surprised if this is something that Anne wore already in the 90ies, and I love her for it. I think it looks lovely on her. King Charles is lucky to have her making such a tremendous job.
At a loss, for words at the moment to describe a woman who is dedicated, hard-working, always knows the proper clothing to wear to specific engagements, is classy, funny, and lovely. The outfit today is no different, reflects her tasteful, classy style, and her ease of engagement with the people she is meeting.
ReplyDeleteYou are right Rossella. She is afraid to catch something from the commoners, that's why she is wearing gloves made of textile instead of leather because textile gloves can be washed. The late Queen Elizabeth II did the same thing : during summer she wore white textile gloves, during winter she wore black textile gloves.
ReplyDeleteFrom my mother I've learned that one never gives a hand to other people with gloves on. She said it was not polite to keep gloves on when meeting and greeting people. I could keep on the glove of my left hand because we shake hands with our right hand.
I have never seen other royals than the British shaking hands with gloves on.
As always there is sadly a lot of criticism. Please bear in mind that there may be a perfectly good medical reason why Princess Anne wears gloves.
ReplyDeleteShe is one busy lady. Like the jacket on her.
