These dresses are beautiful but too pale, better colorful outfits.
Gabriella can wear the dress again in 2 years

Stunning appearance by Charlene and the children. Albert looks older in this picture but happy. So nice to see them engaged in events as a family. MR

Very nice dress from Charlene and Gabriella. Jacques and his sister are already so used to the cameras, I like Charlene's hairstyle not a fan of Gabriellas style this time. Hope they all had a splendid time at the picnic.

As a little girl I would have hated to have had my hair so severely pulled back like that. Maybe Gabriella chose the hairstyle herself, which would be just fine - but it comes across as very tight in these few pics. Interesting to watch kids’ faces changing over time.

I love Charlene's dress! The colours of the flowers in the bouquet pair perfectly too.

  8. Princess Charlene looks absolutely gorgeous. She’s so elegant with this hairstyle and the dress is lovely. Princess Gabriella is just as gorgeous in this lovely dress and the men are nice and smart. Like the fourth photo where there’s a wee spark of mischief in the expression of both twins.

Charlene est magnifique. Jacques et Gabriella ne semblent pas du tout s’amuser.

Princess Charlene is very beautiful. I wonder what kind of picnic they have in Monaco to appear in a white guipure lace dress. When looking at the group's photo I see several men who are overdressed. Lucky Prince Albert and Prince Jacques didn't wear a tie. Prince Jacques in long trousers and a blazer and Princess Gabriella in a sun dress ? Her hair is pulled back severely. I wonder if a young girl like she is choosing this hairstyle herself ?

I’m not a fan of the uneven hem line. Though the dress is lovely and Princess Charlene wears it well.
The picnic is a staple part In Monaco diary, the end of Summer and the children going back to school. I hope the family had a fun Summer together as a family.

The uneven hem is my only negative

Same for me on the hemline comments.
It's only 50 odd years ago when a seamstress would lose her job if she did a hem like that.
And as for baggy fitting jackets etc. She’d be banned from working in the industry or sent off to have her eyes tested.

      @ dedeggs
In the 50s (which is more than 50 years ago) these hemlines which are longer in the back and shorter in the front, were fashion. Everything the big fashion brands in Paris brought out in the old days came back regularly. I'll give one example : the shirt dresses with the wide skirts and small waist Dior brought out again have been worn since about 5 years by many queens and princesses. I don't remember that the baggy fitting jackets which are fashion since approx. 2-3 years have been fashion before. I don't think so. I don't think the big fashion houses in Paris can afford to send seamstresses away, because it is hard to find someone who is really capable. Those who are capable are received with open arms. Girls are going longer to school than in the past. After secondary school they are going to university or higher education to become a diploma which give them the opportunity to do a job that pays better than being a seamstress. These jobs are done now by immigrants from other countries.

There was a period in fashion when we saw the fishtail hemline
      Perhaps the 1920’s. ??????
I would call them sculpted hemlines and not uneven hemlines.
Used a lot for evening gowns.
Yes, the life of a seamstress has changed.
The period when they were uncharitably called in France “midinettes” has fortunately passed and seamstresses are now searched for their talent to do uneven hemlines and other ill fitting, fashion garments.
If you have a spare moment take a look at the history and photos of the French Midinettes.

I know about the "midinettes". I also know there was one day in a year they went out together in Paris and didn't had to work. It was shown when I went with my parents to the movies (cinema). Before the film started we always had in black and white the news of the passed week. There I saw them when they were dressed beautifully to enjoy their free time, once a year. Maybe I am older than you, but you seem to know many things that happened in the past too.

Princess Gabriella is smiling on pics. N° 2 & 4. On pic. N° 3 she just finished smiling or she just starts smiling. On these photo's it is Prince Jacques who is smiling less than his sister. But what I see is rather special, something that only happens, I think, between twins. Without looking at each other they know what the other one is thinking and when he/she will smile. Sometimes they look like they will start gigling and don't dare to look at each other if they have to be serious, during a speech f.ex. Someone said they had a "sourire malicieux". This is what I am trying to explain.

El vestido de la Princesa Charlenne magnífico, muy bonito....ahora a ella se la ve contenida, con falta de chispa, de vida. El vestido de la Princesa Gabriela, demasiado largo, sin lugar a dudas.
