King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia made a State Visit to Egypt from September 16 to 19. On September 19, the King and Queen began their day with a tour of the Luxor Museum, where Spanish archaeologists Myriam Seco and José Manuel Galán showed them archaeological pieces discovered during their respective excavation missions, currently on display at the museum. On this occasion, Queen Letizia wore a belted linen jacket by Carolina Herrera.
After visiting the museum, the King and Queen toured the Valley of the Kings, which, together with the city of Thebes and its necropolises, has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. They were also briefed on the project for the preservation and enhancement of the archaeological sites of Luxor and Giza, which includes the touristic development of the funerary tombs in the Valley of the Kings.
At the conclusion of their visit to the Valley of the Kings, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia proceeded to Luxor Airport, where, after being bid farewell by the Governor of Luxor and Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, they departed for Spain, thus bringing their State Visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt to a close.

Another stand-out outfit on Letizia. She and CH were truly made for each other. The outfit looks so fresh, clean and cool - just perfect for a trip like this.
ReplyDeleteCredit to the King as well. He looks casually dashing, and the perfect pairing to his wife's sartorial choices.
And finally, the artifacts and structures in Luxor are simply stunning. Egypt has such a rich and profound culture dating back centuries. We are so fortunate for these restoration and preservation efforts to inform our history.

Ces images nous montrent que le couple royal a su choisir avec goût ses tenues parfaites pour cette visite !
ReplyDeleteJust wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI like this suit on Queen Letizia even better than the one she wore yesterday.
ReplyDeleteThe outfit is smart and appropriate but I fail to understand why she does not get the sleeves altered. These rolled up sleeves, which one sees so often with the queen, are too casual, to be polite.

Paloma.
DeleteI envy this royal couple going to Luxor. It's one of the most fascinating places in the world. Letizia wore the perfect outfit for this region. The smart looking linen suit will keep her cool & comfortable. I'm sure Egypt is broiling hot.
ReplyDeleteVery fresh and relaxed looking pantsuit again. I also like the King's outfit. These pictures somehow remaind me of a movie "Death on the Nile" based on Agatha Christie's book.
ReplyDeleteLetizia wears white very well. She is a beautiful lady.
