On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, accompanied by their daughters, Crown Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, visited Paysage Miró, a Joan Miró exhibition at La Lonja in Palma de Mallorca. The exhibition is part of a major cultural initiative—a historic alliance that brings together the leading cultural institutions of the Balearic Islands.For the occasion, Queen Letizia wore a new pink midi dress by Hugo Boss, a handbag from Feel Mallorca, and espadrilles by Espardenyes Torres. Crown Princess Leonor opted for a new linen midi dress by El Corte Inglés. Infanta Sofía wore an ikat-woven midi dress by Babbaki, a brand she has worn on several occasions.

DeleteLovely ladies, not keen on the queens dress, I think it is cute but for some reason I don’t like it on her. Really like Leonor’s dress, colour, fit and shoes. Sofia not sure u til I saw the back then liked it better. I like how she did her hair, nice to see her face. And the king of course looks great right down to his shoes.

DeleteOnce again the King is just so effortlessly elegant. Princess Leonor looks lovely and Princess Sofia has gone with flat sandals which look better with the dress. (I wish she would wear her hair off her face more often as she looks so much better when she does) Although, I like Queen Letizia’s dress, it doesn’t seem to hang well, particularly in the 4th & 5th photos.

DeleteThe princesses of Belgium and Holland have a more polished appearance than the ones from Spain even though Leonor is a beauty. Leonor and her sister are lovely and so natural that I wouldn’t think they had royal connections if I ran into them on the street. MR

Et je ne crois pas qu'on ait déjà vu des photos des princesses de Belgique et des Pays-Bas en vacances, elles ont certainement la même allure que Leonor et Sofía.
En ce qui me concerne, même si je n'aime pas trop ces robes, leur allure générale ne me dérange pas, elles ne sont pas négligées et sont toujours charmantes à voir, souriantes et agréables. Une belle famille.
L'expo me plairait bien, j'aime beaucoup Miró. Paloma.

Media literacy matters. The Dutch Release staged pictures at their home before going on vacation. This family IS on vacation.

DeleteI can only speak for the Belgian royals. It is simple. From 22 July until 31 August King Philippe and Queen Mathilde are on Summer holidays with the 4 children, or with a reduced number of children now that the eldest children are young adults. During their vacation the official address of the Belgian Royal family is Île d'Yeu in France where they have a villa or a vacation house. If you go there you might as well find nobody home because in the past they visited other European countries departing from there. A few years ago they were spotted on a boat on a lake in Croatia, the king, the queen and the 4 children. What did they wear ? The children were all wet because they just had a swim in the lake and were not dried up entirely. The queen wore a simple cotton skirt and a white T-shirt, the king wore cotton trousers and a shirt. There were also some tourists on the boat and they recognized the Belgian royals, they took pictures with their mobiles. 2 days later the pictures were in the press. King Philippe and Queen Mathilde didn't talked about the fact their pictures appeared in the news papers and in Belgium people don't see any harm in pictures that have been taken of the king and queen and their family during the Summer holidays. A couple of weeks later nobody talked about it any more. They don't do a photo shoot with the press photographers before going on Summer holidays like in The Netherlands. This year during Eastern holidays King Philippe, Queen Mathilde and 3 of the 4 children were doing the last part of the Camina (the road to Santiago di Compostella). It was known that the BRF would finish this year the Camina, which they started a few years before. They were photographed first dressed in their hiking gear and formal on the last day to go to mass in the cathedral of Saint James (Saint-Jacques). Apparently the press was welcome. Afterwards nobody from the royal family had problems with the fact they have been seeing and again after a week or so, nobody talked anymore on how the BRF spent their Eastern Holidays.
If of course a royal family is on vacation in their own country and are going year after year to the same place doing the same things, the press is expecting them and are waiting and ready to take the pictures.

C'est le roi le plus chic de tous, particulièrement la belle couleur bleue de sa chemise et c'est élégant avec un pantalon blanc. Merci à anonyme 01 : 39 de m'avoir fait remarquer ses belles chaussures ! Paloma.

Virginia, she is at the beach! They’re on their holiday on the island of Mallorca. Royals are people and take holidays and want to dress down too of course. Marivent is a castle almost entirely surrounded by the water, and right next to Palma, on a very relaxed Mediterranean island!

DeletePeople in this Island dress like this and they are promoting the Balearic Islands as the former Queen Sofía and King Juan Carlos used to do...even Lady Diana and Charles were there with their children and dressed like this..."Hola" magazine... always has been a good place to know about royalty.
I do not have anything against their dresses, just that they are badly made. Hugo Boss is not exactly cheap, I see the prices of this brand in my town too. I do not buy magazines like "Hola" or any other of this kind of magazines when I can see as much of it on the internet. There is more than one website with royal news.
DeleteIf I have to make a choice (which is not easy today), I think CP Leonor is looking the best of the three royal ladies. Her dress bought at El Corte Inglés is the best of the 3 dresses, however it would look better on an older lady than on a young princess. The waistline of the dress is too high on Leonor's dress. As a matter of fact the 3 dresses have a waistline which is too high. The colors of Sofia's dress are not matching her own natural colors like hair, skin, etc... It washes her out. Like somebody said earlier Queen Letizia's dress looks like a night gown. If it wasn't marked, I would not believe it is by Hugo Boss.

Deletei agree that the "waistilnes" are misplaced on each lady. Either a bit higher for a bodice style or lower to be a true waistline. The lines all seem to sit at the lower ribcage, which is nowhere.
DeleteThese dresses don’t have waistlines, 12:37. Like many sweet summer frocks, the material hangs from higher up because it’s cooler than a fitted waist. They are on holiday on an island and these dresses are simple and perfect. Nothing to criticise here.

DeleteI do not agree with you. These dresses have waistlines. If you have a bodice and a skirt automatically you have a waistline because of the seam between the bodice (rather short) and the skirt. It has nothing to do with criticising it is just a fact that can be noticed.
