On August 27, 2025, Queen Silvia of Sweden attended the Seniors’ Day 2025 event in Ekebyhov Castle Park in Ekerö Municipality. Seniors’ Day has been celebrated on Ekerö since 1998, when it was initiated by the Queen. In the early years, the celebration took place in Drottningholm Park, but it is now held in Ekebyhov Castle Park. During the event, the Queen met with elderly residents of the municipality and their families.
Lovely dresses, I especially like the crocheted or tatted fringe on the hat and edge of her collar.
ReplyDeleteYou're joking, right? Irene
DeleteIrene, no I am not kidding. It adds a feminine touch. Now, I am assuming it is hand done, which takes skill to create, almost a lost art form.
DeleteVery feminine, yes agree with you.
DeletePhoto 4 is a beautiful portrait of The Queen.
ReplyDeleteSilvia är lika gammal som dom hon träffar, vem kan tro det?
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference with the evening gown. When Queen Silvia is wearing the traditional clothes, she looks almost as old as the women she visited on Seniors day.
ReplyDeleteShe IS as old as them, 81 years.
DeleteI really like the way Swedish people use their national costumes. -Siri
La bordure crochetée de la coiffe ainsi que celle de son col apporte de la finesse à la tenue traditionnelle de la reine !
ReplyDeleteQ Silvia looks nice in the National dress.

I suspect the Queen was a huge hit with the Seniors in national attire. It's not flattering imo, but she is to be respected for wearing it.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely Queen Silvia looks in traditional dress! I find it so interesting to see the different types from different areas of Sweden. I love the shawl she is wearing today--the flower stitch to mimic the daisy that is so often a floral motif in Sweden's traditional dress. I can also see the lace trim on her hat and collar does the same thing. What intricately beautiful designs.
