On August 25, 2025, King Frederik X and Queen Mary arrived at Sæby Harbor in Frederikshavn Municipality aboard the Royal Yacht Dannebrog. The King and Queen visited Råbjerg Mile, where they were given a guided walking tour by Jesper Blom Hansen, District Forester at the Danish Nature Agency Vendsyssel, and Bo Storm, Nature Guide in Frederikshavn Municipality. Råbjerg Mile is one of Europe’s largest migrating sand dunes.

Råbjerg Mile is a coastal dune located between Skagen and Frederikshavn. The dune measures about 1,000 meters on each side and moves approximately 15 meters northeast each year. At Grenen, the two seas, Kattegat and Skagerrak, meet. In the past, Grenen pointed north, but as the area is constantly changing, the tip now points more east than north.

Nice casual clothes, perfect for the occasion. Love the look on the kings face looking at the little boy.

Ok, here I really love Mary's outfit (and actually Frederik's too). It's casual and still smart. Most of all I like her shorts. The loose baggyness in the wind reminds me slightly of Jonathan Andersen's recent debut collection for Dior Men.
But most of all, I'm loving seeing how much fun these two are having, foot loose and fancy free. The photo of Mary in the water with the waves behind her and Frederik taking her photo is just lovely.

I always enjoy Queen Mary’s casual wear. She’s one of our royal ladies that can look as good in casual wear as she does at a tiara event in evening gown.
Love seeing the fun they’re both having! They certainly have been lucky with the weather!

    Wowww!!
If I had to give a title to this pics set, I'd call it: " No limits..Freedom in action".
Frankly, their Majesties look like two models moving around for some shooting session!
Anyway, , the real leading "actor" is the magnificent natural backdrop.
I know it well from my experience how suggestive and breathtaking Skagen can be, as well as Grenen, for example.
The two seas merging together- the Baltic Sea and the North Sea- are a unique natural phenomenon.
I personally like the Skagerrak natural trait between Denmark and Norway.
So wild, windy, pure freedom there!
You can really see nature's "grandeur" and- for the believers- , a masterpiece reflecting God's power.
All these natural surroundings are unparalleled, priceless sights.
As far as I can remember, Mary spent a part of her summer holiday in Skagen when she was still the Crown Princess of Denmark.
Fashion wise, a very appropriate clothing selection worn by their Majesties and perfect for this visit.

  12. For the King and Queen’s visit to the Råbjerg Mile sand dune, I’d call their outfits ‘unfussy casual' as against ‘casual chic’
When I think of ‘casual chic’, I think of Madam Macron (wife of the French President) who is the queen of’ ‘casual chic’.
At the risk of repeating myself, I think Helen should stretch the boundaries of her royal fashion blog to include first ladies.
