On August 15, 2025, King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended a special VJ Day remembrance service at the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire. During the national service of remembrance, the King and Queen laid flowers in tribute. Around 33 men, now aged between 96 and 105, who served in the military in the Far East and Pacific, were the guests of honour at the event.
VJ Day, or Victory over Japan Day, is commemorated on August 15 each year and marks the date in 1945 when Japan surrendered to the Allied forces, bringing World War II to an end after nearly six years. For the occasion, Queen Camilla wore a white pleated chiffon dress by Dior and a white Philip Treacy hat. She also wore The Rifles brooch, representing the regiment of which she is Colonel-in-Chief.
Camilla looks excellent in her always perfect white/cream. The pleated dress and lovely hat are wonderful. Lovely to see leaders around the world honouring and respecting this special day.

Looks great with the belt on Camilla’s dress.

Wow!!! I love this dress on Queen Camilla--she looks fabulous. Every element of this Dior design is flattering and perfect for her. Of course I adore her hat--no one wears a big hat like the Queen. How wonderful for the surviving veterans to be able to take part in this celebration as well as meet with Their Majesties. I'm sure the King and Queen were also feeling it is a privilege to meet with these brave gentlemen.

Love this dress on Queen Camilla. A nice change of pace from her standard dress style.
ReplyDeleteThis dress looks quite lovely on the queen. White is a good colour for her.
