On 27 August 2025, King Frederik and Queen Mary arrived by launch from the Royal Yacht Dannebrog at Østerby Harbor as part of this year’s summer cruise. In a tent at the harbor, the Municipality of Læsø held its official welcome for the Royal Couple, where Mayor Tobias Birch Johansen delivered a formal address to Their Majesties.

At Læsø Saltsyderi, the King and Queen were received by Jonas Kjellberg, director of Læsø Salt A/S. Salt production on Læsø dates back to the Middle Ages, and today the company continues this historic tradition.

Later, at Læsø Museumsgård, the Royal Couple was welcomed by museum director Simon Kyhn-Madsen and given a tour of the historic farm, Lynggården, renowned for its distinctive silver-grey seaweed roof covered with flowering plants.

  1. Burnt orange is one of my favorite colours and I think this blazer looks great especially the way the opening has curves along the bottom front. Even though I think it goes well with camel, the skirt has too much gathering or pleats and looks messy. The plain panel of fabric on the midriff only adds to the messiness. I mean the outfit has a casual vibe so it's not bad but it could be better. I hope Mary will re-use the blazer in a more formal way in the future.

Another great outfit on Mary. I especially love her jacket (beautiful colour, style and fit) and her bag, and the fact that Frederik is coordinated with her.
She has chosen some lovely outfits for this tour and I'm enjoying seeing it all.
They hosted a tea party on board their ship at this stop (Laeso) where the guests were ferried to the ship in smaller launches, and Mary wore another stunning dress there.

King Frederick is wearing exactly the same colours - very nice!

  4. Queen Mary has such interesting clothes and she puts pieces together
In original ways. It’s like she looks in her closet and thinks about what would go with what—like an ordinary person —except that what she wears is probably much more expensive than what most ordinary people (I.e. me) wear. She looks beautifully put together but not necessarily “styled.”

I don’t think this is the same skirt as the model. I like the fall colours and what I call her Aussie hat. Very nice casual but classy look for both

    1. You are right anon at 20:06. It's not the same skirt. The skirt on the model looks better, but I like very much Mary's color combinations. The hat and the little bag are nice additions.

It's definitely a different skirt. The one she is wearing has a gathered waist, without a flat piece to the hip.

I absolutely love the Queen's ballet flats. But she's wearing too many layers - some 3 , some 4 items. Overwhelming and untidy looking. If it is that cold, wear a cashmere turtleneck sweater , a scarf and a warm coat (when needed).

Sure you could imagine what "changing weather conditions" at the end of summer in the northern part of Europa can mean Sure not a cashmere sweater, but exactly what Mary is doing: casually layered clothing. Especially because they spend time at different locations, inside and outside, and at different times of the day. She solved brilliantly.

… but she’s a normal human, with a wind that suddenly whipped up, and needed an extra layer. Isn’t that normal?! It’s ok to be a queen and pop on an outer jacket!, she is, afterall, just Mary, who happened to make a really good marriage, and on a casual day in and around the sea, layers up!

Another great outfit today! Queen Mary paired together items from her closet into a casual look that was perfect for her events today. I think the cardigan was used as an extra layer because it was cold at the beach area--I know I would have to bundle up. The King is layering too. Both look wonderful!

I really like Mary’s more casual outfit here. The blend of colors and textures works so well on her.
