On Friday, August 1, 2025, King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark attended the traditional changing of the guard ceremony held at Gråsten Castle. Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent, and Princess Josephine accompanied the King and Queen during the ceremony. Also present at the event were Prince Gustav, Princess Carina, and their children, Prince Gustav Albrecht and Princess Mafalda.[ads id="ads1"]
A ceremonial changing of the guard with a parade is always held when the royal family is in residence at the castle. For the occasion, Queen Mary wore a polka-dot dress by Weill. Princess Isabella wore a botanical-print midi skirt by La DoubleJ, while Princess Josephine chose a green “Minthe” mini dress by Ba&Sh.Weill Polka Dot Dress

They all look lovely. Casual and relaxed, yet also stylish. All the women are perfectly dressed, each according to their particular styles, especially Josephine and Isabella.
ReplyDeleteThe little kids are so cute. I love the family interaction between these little ones and the king and queen, and on a broader level, between all these various first and second cousins. Happy summer holidays to them all.

Paloma.
DeleteWahlstedt at 16:47 is right. Mary has worn this Botanical Print Midi Skirt earlier, source instagram @royal.fashion.daily
DeleteI agree with some other commenters that Isabella's outfit looks a little bit "heavy" but she still looks beautiful in it. I like most Josephine's dress, it's youthful and suits her young age. The little children are adorable.
All look lovely and casual. These outfits queen has a nice dress that looks like it woild be comfortable to wear
ReplyDeleteGlad to see the second earring has gone from Mary's daughter. The skirt she wears is much too long.
ReplyDeleteMuch too long? Nah, have you tried wearing a long cotton skirt in summer? Feels lovely and feminine and free. Just the summer holiday vibe we hope every young woman can feel.
DeleteI am thinking the second earring was cuff that bends a round the ear without actually going through it.
DeleteWhy shouldn't she wear a second earring if she wants to? I don't understand what is wrong with that.
DeleteHer skirt is being worn as it was designed to be worn, therefore it is not too long. Too long means that skirts and dresses are being worn longer than they were designed to be worn. A knee length skirt worn to the ankles would be too long. This is perfect.
Always in a judgemental mood?
DeleteThis is a maxi summer skirt. Very nice, rarely out of fashion, and - of course - perfect in length. Why is there such a drama because of a second earring worn on one of her ears? It was a point of criticism at their last outing (arrival ceremony at Graasten) as well.
DeleteTop!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely company!
Q. Mary in lovely dress, nice skirt of the eldest and cute dress of the youngest daughter; men smart casual!
Finally a dress that really, really suits Mary.(with the quirky dots).
ReplyDelete???

DeleteLittle Mafalda looks like Isabella did at that age. So precious.
ReplyDeleteAll the ladies look lovely in their chosen ensemble.
What a lovely time to catch up with family and friends.
Lowri.
Little Mafalda looks adorable in her pink floral baby outfit and, in the 3rd picture close-up, very much resembles her cousin Isabella!
ReplyDeleteI don't think so.
DeleteNo she looks like her mother
DeleteI agree @19:21. Very cute!
DeleteLovely outfits for everyone. Mary's dress looks great. Little Gustav Albrecht and Mafalda are so cute. Hope more family members will join them, let's hope. I must say Josephine is a real beauty. Sadly, Christian was not there.

I like the king his belt. Not a fan of PrIsabella her out fit. Maybe a blouse without puffy sleeves would have better with this busy printed skirt.
ReplyDeleteThe royal family looks very good -- casual and all neatly attired. I knew someone would bring up the "earring thing". But own it and sign your name, please.
ReplyDeleteVirginia, you will never ever meet this person who goes by anonymous, will you feel vindicated if they sign their name, what if they use a fake name so at the end of the day can you prove the identity of this person. Lastly if Helen did not have the support of all of the commenters she would not be able to bring us this wonderful content that we all enjoy. Let it go darling!!!!!!
DeleteQueen Mary looks lovely in this dress, I really like this dress. She looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteWhat I like about this family is how the cousins are together, enjoying the special summer location
ReplyDeleteMalfalda is that a typical danish name? Teasuremine
ReplyDeleteNo, Mafalda is not a typical Danish name. It is the Italian or Spanish/Portuguese equivalent of the German name Mathilde. Her father, Prince Gustav, belongs to the House of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, and he is also the head of the entire House of Sayn-Wittgenstein. This is German nobility. Princess Benedikte is Danish. She married Prince Richard zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, who sadly passed away in 2017.
DeleteIs Josephine’s hair dyed? Her hair looks so pretty, I like her long layers.
ReplyDeletei like Isabella’s outfit very much, and it it being worn as designed. being summer I would prefer the skirt just above my ankle and the blouse to have 3/4 or shorter sleeves. However nothing wrong with this look. Josephine’s dress is very much keeping with a 14 years old style choice, though I find it a bit short, especially for bending over, or sitting.
