On July 6, 2025, Princess Alexandra of Hanover and Ben Sylvester Strautmann attended the Summer Ball (Bal d'Été) at the Museum of Decorative Arts (MAD) in Paris, marking the beginning of Couture Week in the French capital. The fundraising event also commemorated the centenary of the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts.

The soirée was hosted by Sofia Coppola, who was announced as its Artistic Director last year. Proceeds from the event will go toward supporting the exhibition 1925–2025: One Hundred Years of Art Deco, opening on October 22. For the evening, Princess Alexandra wore a maxi dress from Chanel's Spring 2022 Haute Couture collection, paired with white gold and diamond earrings by Cartier.

A classy looking and age appropriate dress.
I'm wondering if an updo and lower sitting necklace would have elevated
    the overall look.

A very nice dress, it fits her well. There is something about the whole look that imo could improve. A different hair style, different necklace, I know they can wear their hair how ever they want but it doesn’t necessarily enhance your features.

Not too bad for a Chanel dress but much too old for a young woman.

The upper part of the dress is very nice, but I don't like that the lower part consists of two skirts.

  6. C’est une jolie robe qui lui convient bien ; ses boucles d'oreilles me plaisent beaucoup !

I’m not a fan of this dress. Too much layers and embellisments and texture. It hurts my eyes. I wonder what Coco Chanel would have tought of this. I’m no fan of the jewellery either. Maybe it’s an heirloom ?

Not crazy about the dress — I’m just not a fan of that particular design — but Alexandra is, as usual, as cute as a button. Her gently waved hair is very becoming to her, and I’m always delighted when a royal lady shuns the harsh red lipstick that so many women in the public eye seem to favor these days.
