On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie attended a concert by British singer Sting at LuxExpo Open-Air. Just before going on stage, Sting welcomed the Grand Ducal Family for a brief meeting, joined by Luxembourgish drummer Chris Maas, who is part of the tour.
More than 12,000 people gathered at the LuxExpo Open-Air venue. Sting — whose real name is Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner — is an English musician, actor, activist, and humanitarian. As a solo artist and as a member of The Police, he has received 17 Grammy Awards. For the occasion, the Grand Duchess wore a three-piece ensemble by Dries Van Noten, while Princess Stéphanie opted for a bohemian ornamental print dress by Sézane.
Stephanie wears a lovely dress, but her shoes donot fit with it.
ReplyDeleteLike the Dries van Noten design on the Duchess: maybe she should have made the knot a bit higher to make her legs look longer.
I rather like Stephanie's dress and I wouldn't be too fussy about the shoes. From what I see they are common summer sandals, fitting with almost everything. I think she wants to care herself for her children as much as possible, leaving her little time for choosing details about her style.
DeleteNot a fan of the Gr Duchess's ensemble, Dr van Noten's design disappoints me here.
10.00. I agree!
DeleteThe Sezanne dress looks good with the boots or maybe espadrilles?
DeleteI think Stephanie's dress is delightful; the shape suits her well and it's also a great colour for her. (Though I would be very happy if I never saw another pair of platform wedge espadrilles on another royal lady ever again).
ReplyDeleteMarie-Therese's silk outfit is a pretty colour -- but as so often happens, her outfit adds unnecessary volume and bulk to her petite figure. The fabric knot unfortunately draws attention right where it is not needed. Instead of the shirt, a cream blazer worn open would be more flattering -- skimming her middle and providing some elegant vertical lines. Lyra.
I agree with you Anon 10: 00.
ReplyDeleteStephanie's dress is lovely but the shoes are too casual.
Cate
Too casual for a rock star concert? Certainly not. She's done everything perfectly right this time (Stephanie, that is). Her mother-in-law, on the other hand, again wrapped herself up in far too much fabric and print, as she does so often.
DeleteIt’s not so much too casual as just not right with the dress. Her feet look huge. I don’t know if there’s an easy solution. Even if light coloured heeled courts are often not right for less formal summer occasions, strapped sandals like these look clumsy, trainers with a dress look silly for many, flats are okay with shorts or trousers.
DeleteAgréablement surprise par Stéphanie qui porte un jolie robe imprimée dont la légèreté lui va à merveille ; j'adore le choix de ses boucles d'oreilles - Que veut cacher Maria Teresa avec ce noeud trop bas ?!
ReplyDeleteSorry, Grand Duchess, this ensemble is simply dreadful, I am unable to go into any details. This lady needs a sartorial concept, a style adapted to her figure and size.
ReplyDeleteOn top of it all, the desire to look younger than ever. I wonder where she keeps her overflowing wardrobe, no rewears, no ecological path. Perhaps I should feel sorry for her.

DeleteI agree with you, except on one thing, which is the rewear. GD Maria-Teresa does wear dresses, pant suits, gala-dresses, tunica's, more than once. Every season she is wearing clothes she has already in her wardrobe, some of them since several years.
The Grand Duchess looks lovely in this outfit, oftentimes trouser suits are better for her and this is one of those occasions - she has overall good proportions so trouser suits are usually good for her. - Stephanie's Boheme dress in boheme style does not do any favours for her. The dress itself is unstructured, but it also does not allow Stephanie's own "structure" to show. It could be better in just-under-the-knee-length, allowing at least her fabulous legs to shine.
ReplyDeleteIt’s a ‘no’ to Stephanie’s sandals. The dress is pretty. But something about the look ages her.
ReplyDeleteGD MT does love a bold color and if you match it with a bold pattern, she’s in fashion heaven.

Stéphanie's sandals are not better or worser than Duchess Sophie's espadrilles.
DeleteI think both ladies look good in their own way. GD a tad too much fabric but if she feels better than a tight fit, fine with me. Colour is very nice on her. My quibble is the drawn eyebrows too much. For me I prefer less makeup as a person ages, keep,it to rouge , lipstick, skip the foundation creams.

DeleteOn the contrary : older ladies better use fluid make-up than compact powder because with powder your face will look dryed out. Sometimes a bit of loose powder after the fluid make-up applied with a soft brush on the nose chin and forehead to hide oily skin. If you have a rather dry skin you don't have to do this. At a certain age almost nobody has a perfect skin anymore, so a little fluid make-up, not much and not a too dark color, can hide a lot of little brown and red spots. What is also recommended is to use fluid make-up with a sun factor.
I like this dress on Stéphanie. It is a good fit for her and the color suits her.
ReplyDeleteWith this hot weather the sandals are a good idea.
Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie will be once such a very very very lovely GRAND DUCHESS with real very very very sincere warmth of heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNice dress and color for Stephanie, footwear not a fan. Sorry MT's outfit almost looks like a PJ.

Both ladies look good, they both have their individual ideas and taste in fashion.
