During their eight-day trip, which runs through July 13, the imperial couple are scheduled to lay flowers at a memorial honoring Japanese nationals who died in internment camps there after the war. They will also attend the opening ceremony of Naadam, Mongolia’s annual festival celebrating the traditional “three manly games”: horseracing, wrestling, and archery.

I love the faded pastel colours of Empress Masako's suit. Reminds me of ice-cream in this heat we're having. I also note the Emperor's matching tie, and the elaborate costumes of the Mongolian people. What a treat to look forward to over the next week.

  2. J’ai été surprise par les lignes sous l’article qui indiquaient que le ministre mongol des Affaires étrangères, Batmunkh Battsetseg avait accueilli le couple impérial japonais car il fallait plutôt lire « madame la ministre… » !

As usual Empress Masako provides a masterclass in soft tailoring. Lovely!

How wonderful to see her on overseas engagements. She has done several since being Empress. She looks lovely BTW. Hope there are many more pictures to come with them visiting Mongolia. I wish them the best.
