On Saturday, June 14, 2025, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène, accompanied by Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, officially opened the 6th edition of the Rencontres des Sites Historiques Grimaldi de Monaco (Grimaldi Historic Sites Meeting). The event is organized by the Grimaldi Historic Sites Federation.
Established ten years ago, the network of historic Grimaldi strongholds now includes over 80 local authorities in the French association and about thirty in its Italian counterpart. For this 6th edition, three historic sites in Haute-Loire, two municipalities in the Apennines, Ollioules in the Var, Villeneuve-Loubet in the Alpes-Maritimes, and Uzès in the Gard were honored.
After delivering his speech, the Sovereign presented commemorative plaques to the eight invited mayors, Monaco’s technical services, and the publishing house Glénat. The Princely Family then toured the village, engaging with the many exhibitors.
For the occasion, Princess Charlène wore a tiger-print maxi dress by Diane von Furstenberg, while Princess Gabriella wore a printed cotton dress by Chloé Kids.
Charlene looks lovely! Love the dress, hair and makeup. Lovely combination
ReplyDeleteA perfect look for her in every respect and Princess Gabriella’s dress is also ideal for the occasion.
Deletei like this natural pictures of Charlene that show her wrinkles. Her dress is so beautiful, i like this new image; wearing colour, prints and smiling.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love Charlene's summer style! This DVF dress is perfect on her and for her. Charlene looks gorgeous here. The twins look cute although Jacques as always looks more comfortable with this public business than Gabriella. Both are dressed perfectly for the event--Gabriella is such a beautiful little girl.

Agreed.

Both dresses are too long. Princess Gabriella's dress looks like a beautiful night gown. I think these childeren are not being outside very often. They look so pale. I know one must be very careful with the sun, especially when one has a fair and sensible skin, but with good sun protection and not staying too long in the sun it is not dangerous. People need sunshine to keep their vitamine D3 level in balane. One can also be outside in a parc or a garden, but stay in the shadow all the time.
ReplyDeleteOn the 5th picture Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques, as twins, they seem to understand each other without words.
Please…. React normal… how stupid!!! . My Son is pretty pale too, plays in the garden and park every day. Good sunscreen you know.
DeleteHello @17.30 ! I think we have to let the twins’ parents make their own decisions on their kids’ skin. Pale is fine if that’s your skin tone. Re the dresses, I LOVE them this length, and am interested: when you say “they are too long” do you mean you wouldn’t wear them that long? Too long for what? I think they look excellent and they also feel really nice in summer by the sea. Have you tried wearing one I wonder? You might find out you love a good maxi as I do! Kind regards, a long dress wearer
DeleteBoth dresses are being worn as they were designed to be worn, as you can see from how the models are wearing them. This is not a case of ill-fitting clothes.
DeleteYour comments about their skin tone are ignorant. You have no idea how much time they spend outside. Some people never tan because they don't produce much melanin. It is strictly genetic.
-Dorothe-
Dear Anonymous, I am quite sure that these children with their light skin get enough sunlight, just the right amount, and that we need not worry about their vitamin D 3 level. We know much more about skin cancer than previous generations and it is wise to avoid over-exposure. This family certainly has access to the best medical advice.

This is educative information; people with genetic roots from North of Britian, Scandinavia do not have tanning skin tones/pale. Charlene and Albert have irish roots, so do their children.
DeleteDorothe, was ist mit Ihnen los? Niemand hat "unschuldige Kinder angegriffen".
DeleteIt was just an observation. No critics on children. Having myself a fair sensible skin, I know how difficult it was when I was young not to catch a sunburn. On the other hand one must go outside younger and older people. In the meantime with all the products that are on the market, I can protect myself and know what to do when I must go outside in 30° C. Normally I try to stay in a cool place and out of the sun when the t° is too high (on doctor's advice). But it is good to know that I have to add this subject to my list with other subjects which cannot be discussed on this blog.
DeleteFashion wise, I do not like maxi dresses during the day.
Children can wear a maxi dress for events like marriages and other formal or family events on which it is the custom to wear a long (evening) gown.
And you know Dorothe your reaction was not necessary at all, you cannot understand the difference between a simple observation and
critics to children, because they were not critics to them.

I agree with Dorothea’s outrage. Let’s not criticise children in any way. Skin tone is especially a subject you should know not to bring up. Discussing maxi dresses is fine.
Delete06:43 ???
Delete@Anon 17:30 Please don't try to make this another "subject to my list with other subjects which cannot be discussed on this blog." We all should know better. You should never discuss the physical appearance of anyone, especially when it is critical. "I think these childeren [sic] are not being outside very often. They look so pale" is judging their physical appearance and in your mind, assuming they are not going out of doors enough. Try to understand how damaging it is to be criticized about your physical appearance. Not all people, especially children, can ignore comments that will be perceived as hurtful. Children, in particular, are off limits. Comments about skin tone and body weight are NEVER okay.
DeleteI respectfully disagree with your opinion on maxi dresses. They are perfectly acceptable daywear. They are different than evening gowns. They come back into fashion every so often. I first wore them in the 70s, along with jumpsuits. Fortunately, there are many options for everyone. If you do not like maxi dresses, you can choose something you do like.
Charlene looks great, good colour on her. Gabriella resembles her cousin Camille in photo 5. The children are dresses in age appropriate clothes. I do wish the prince would not wear a ball cap, he looks so much better in a brimmed hat. Otherwise the family looks lovely together.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree, the cap is not flattering, quite the opposite.
Delete🌞 Virginia
I agree with the resemblance to Camille.. Both also bear a strong likeness to Princess Grace.
DeleteGabriella continues to resemble Princess Stephanie, more so when she smiles, she has smiling eyes like her aunt and grandma Grace.
DeleteSuch a shame that Gabriella so seldom smiles
ReplyDeleteShe seldom smiles in the photos we see. Most likely not a reflection of all the other seconds of her childhood but of how it feels to be in public with many people watching her.
DeleteShe is a child, forced into a public role. How she appears publicly has nothing to do with her private temperament. She is well behaved while strangers are gawking at her and snapping pictures and videoing her. If she is still not smiling when she is in her twenties, there may be a problem (that would still be none of our business.) Stop scrutinizing a child. Not everyone is suited to public life. She is being exposed now so it will make it easier for her later. Give her the grace she needs while she is learning to handle a life she may never want, please.
DeleteAnon 17:43 - may I add to Anon 21:00: stop scrutinizing persons, children and adults. Scrutinize what they wear.
DeleteI also notice that these children seldom smile. And I don't think it is "scrutizing" to say so.
DeleteCoralie, we all notice if they aren't smiling. Why mention it?
DeleteExcellent comment,
Delete@ @Anonymous 21:00.
I want to joint in: stop scrutinizing children!
@ Coralie 07:47
This actually means scrutinizing children.
None of our business.
If they smiled , you would say that they " grin" or you would find other reasons to nitpick (like their fair skin tone).
Some comments here are simply creepy.
Such a shame that Gabriella so seldom smiles
ReplyDeleteShe might do it because she doesn’t want to, doesn’t mean she isn’t happy to be there
DeleteI love everything about Princess Charlene’s look. The dress is perfect. The colors are flattering. Pss Charlene is tall enough to do justice to the length. Hair and make up are on point for a day event.
ReplyDeletePrincess Gabriella looks lovely in her Summer dress. I see her looking more like her Father everytime we see her. She’s such a pretty young lady.
Interesting outing for the family. Historically the Grimaldi family is older than some European royal families. Yet you get the impression their counterparts forget that.
Lowri.
Princess Charlene is looking very beautiful - the children are still to cute for words. They take after their parents - no question.

Froufrou
Charlene looks so sweet and beautiful with this hair style and makeup. Most importantly, she looks deeply at peace and healthy. Lovely children! MR
Paloma.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I cannot believe some of the comments people post here about the children: "She seldom smiles..."; "Not being outside very often.. sunlight and vitamin D3.."
ReplyDeleteYou only see a few seconds - a few seconds - of these children's lives on these pages out of millions and millions of seconds of their lives when you are not around, and you come to such conclusions???? No wonder the world is in trouble.
- Anon 9:13
No wonder the world is in trouble when people mistake some remark on a yellow press blog for politics.
DeleteI agree. Like all of us, children and young people have their own moods, so it is perfectly normal for them not to smile all the time. I find it rather reassuring when you see that. It shows that they are not being forced to act like 'little, experienced adults'. Besides, this is just a selection of photos. We weren't there in person. I think you can see a slight sparkle in Gabriella's eyes in photo 10, as well as the beginnings of a smile. That's how relative it is!
DeleteThe world is in trouble includes all aspects of interpersonal human behaviour, not only politics, though some may not see that.

DeleteEntirely agreed with you , well said.
Wonderful to see P. Charlene so happy and radiant.
ReplyDeleteI almost don't care about P.Charlene's outfit and the event as such.
ReplyDeleteHer very beautiful face and smiles are all I want (and have expected for so long) to see.
There is genuine happiness and wellbeing in her smiles and I couldn't be more thrilled about it.
The twins look so gorgeous, too.
Nice dress on p C!
ReplyDeleteNice look for Charlene and the children. Sadly, Gabriella seldom smiles.
ReplyDeletecss
Don't be sad for the twins.
DeleteTheir reaction is perfectly normal.
Children are not adults on a small scale.
How would have you reacted as a child, if a bunch of photographers had popped off cameras and flashes at you, shooting your every single move at public events?
Would you have smiled graciously or looked unfazzed?
As much as the twins may be used to public exposure, they are nothing else but kids.
Come on, please.
Why do you expect children to behave like you would have never behaved if you had been in their shoes?
Showing a bit more empathy won't hurt you.
Who is this person writing three comments: "Sadly, Gabriella seldom smiles"? Two times as anon and once as css, every time same words.
ReplyDeletePlease, do not criticize children, it's not very smart.
Mother and daughter both look beautiful in their summer dresses.
