On June 6, Sweden celebrates its 2025 National Day and Swedish Flag Day. The Swedish Royal Family is marking the occasion in Nybro, Solna, and Stockholm. In the morning, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia, accompanied by Princess Ines, opened the southern gates of the Royal Palace and welcomed the public into the Inner Courtyard.
As part of the National Day traditions, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar were photographed. This year’s official photos were taken at the King’s Royal Stables in Stockholm.
Beautiful!
ReplyDeletePrince CP and Princess Sofia look great, but it's the three cousins, especially the sweet baby, who are adorable. Happy National Day to all Swedes.

Thank you!

Gosh, Estelle is getting so tall.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone explain to me why the Swedish royal ladies dress in national costume but the men don't? Thanks. Cate.
Just by tradition, the court's information-lady said today.
DeleteThere are male versions of this national costume, but I never saw them being worn by a member of the Swedish Royal Family. They apparently prefer to stay in a normal suit. https://pin.it/6EIxoH2no

DeleteThanks for taking the time to reply.Cate.
Princess Ines is a darling, as are Victoria’s kids. Love the Swedish costumes.
ReplyDeleteHallelujah, a baby's face instead of its backside! What a cutie. Looking at Estelle, I was lost for just a moment ("who is this woman?").

DeleteI too find it annoying when the younger British royals don't show the face of their baby or child. The Sussexes are the worst offenders.
It's not like there is a history of British royal children being abducted.
Agree. The hidden face thing is just so pretentious. These photos are gtreat
DeleteWhat a beauty princess Ines is!
ReplyDeleteSo much hairextensions Sofia has! All the children sweet!
ReplyDeletePrincess Sofia’s hair looks great.
Delete... and when there is nothing left to be said about a woman's beauty, you always resort to the hair extension narrative.
DeletePity Princess Sofia and the other ladies are dressed in their traditional costumes, otherwise you would have brought in your second most favourite narrative: the proportions!
In the case of Queen Silvia, et voilà, the third narrative comes up, the feet issues and your "prescription" or suggestion re: a walker.. like everyone else (who is everyone else, btw?).
It is almost a bit of a miracle that you haven't suggested yet they all throw their garments away in the garbage or burn everything!
Please, spare this blog the most revolutionary solutions when you don't t like royal ladies' outfits.
Thank you.
Why don't you just focus on the amazing pics of a good-looking mother and her adorable little girl , instead?

Magnifiques photos surtout celle de la frimousse de la princesse Inès ; j'ai hâte de la voir grandir !
ReplyDeleteInes is such a cute baby. I think her eyes resemble her cousin Estelle’s. I love the pictures of Estelle and Oscar.

Je trouve que le regard d'Inès ressemble également à son cousin Oscar ; c'est la première impression que j'avais eue !
DeleteWhat wonderful pictures! Estelle looks so grown up--and is so pretty. Oscar is adorable in his suit. But the best today is seeing sweet baby Ines for the first time! She's a beautiful little one--so adorable in her little National Day dress. Sofia and C-P look wonderful--she always looks beautiful in her National Day dress.

Happy National Day to all of Sweden. I must say the little Pss Ines is a very beautiful little baby and so alert. The National Dress on mother and daughter are very nice. I must say CP and Sofia have beautiful children. Looking forward to the christening on the 13th.

Aw Estelle and Oscar look amazing. Little Oscar, what a sweetheart. P. Ines is so adorable, lovely to see, little one.
ReplyDeleteIt’s so nice to see pr Madeleine with her husband on the National day, it’s wonderful that she and her family is back in Sweden!
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that Estelle is not wearing those "doppy looking" shoes, like Sophia . Estelle's are so much more flattering. And these are two exceptionally lovely ladies. I know - it's tradition, but the outfits are colorful and enough.
ReplyDeleteSofia is wearing the right shoes to the suit, Estelle is not.
DeleteWhy didn’t Sofia use the white headdress!
DeleteWell, these "doppy looking" shoes are, in fact, the correct ones to be worn with this national costume. They have a huge buckle on the midfoot area, which still originates in the 17th/18th century footwear. This also was the period when King Gustav III established the forerunner model of Swedish National Dress as something generally worn at court. Princess Estelle, as a teenage girl, might not have wanted to wear the more clunky, albeit correct, shoe, and opted for something lighter.
