Queen Silvia of Sweden appeared in a tribute episode of the TV4 program What a Life!, dedicated to artist Christer Lindarw. The show, recorded at the Oscarsteatern, featured the Queen expressing her appreciation for Lindarw’s long-standing career with the drag show group After Dark. On stage, the Queen also presented a rose — a gesture that echoed a moment from 1977 when Lindarw had presented a rose to her from the same stage.

Christer Lindarw is a Swedish fashion designer, and leader of the drag group After Dark. In 2017, Lindarw performed a surprise finale number, impersonating Queen Silvia, during the annual televised concert celebrating Crown Princess Victoria’s 40th birthday. For the tribute event, Queen Silvia wore the Napoleonic Cut Steel Tiara.

She’s clearly a good sport. Wearing the same dress from 1977 makes it even more memorable. (V.M.)

Beautiful. It seems to me I saw these images already a while ago. Before she had the surgery on her feet. Maybe it has been emitted on TV during the weekend but it took place life in the theater earlier.

This is a rare exception for this artist who has impersonated her many times during decades. It's kind of wholesome that it's a dragqueen nonetheless who gets that honor, "from a queen to another queen" as her majesty said.
