On June 17, 2025, Queen Margrethe and Princess Benedikte attended the Royal Danish Theatre’s performance of Royal Summer Ballet in the gardens of Fredensborg Palace. Royal Summer Ballet is an annual tradition in which the Royal Danish Theatre tours the country during the summer months, presenting free open-air performances featuring a selection of classical and contemporary ballets.
Upon their arrival, Queen Margrethe and Princess Benedikte were welcomed by the Mayor of Fredensborg Municipality, Thomas Lykke Pedersen. This year’s program featured ten short ballets, including a pas de trois from La Ventana; several pas de deux from works such as The Kermesse in Bruges, Swan Lake, and The Pearl; and a pas de sept from A Folk Tale.

How wonderful to see both of these ladies--elegant to the core. Its great that they enjoy each other's company so much and spend so much time together--sadly, not always true of siblings. I love Queen Margrethe's pop of yellow with her pretty yellow jacket and earrings. Also love the addition of what's. most likely a silk scarf by Princess Benedikte--a chic touch of warmth.
