On June 25, 2025, Her Royal Highness Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Brabant, welcomed approximately ten young patients from the Princess Elisabeth Children’s Hospital to the Royal Palace in Brussels. The children enjoyed a guided tour of the palace, participated in a harp and music workshop, and ended the day with a shared meal.

The Princess Elisabeth Children’s Hospital is a paediatric wing of Ghent University Hospital, named after the heir to the Belgian throne. Princess Elisabeth attended the opening ceremony with her parents in September 2011, when she was nine years old. For the occasion, Crown Princess Elisabeth wore an embroidered midi dress by Zara, paired with gold pearl bead earrings by Carolina Herrera.

A pretty summer dress. I really like the earrings. What fun for the kids.

Great event, she seems to be comfortable with children's events. Lovely dress for a beautiful young woman. Do love the shoes.

Princess Elizabeth seems to share her mother's love of large earrings. It's lovely to see her wear these flower ones, which suit her well. Lyra

      @ Lyra
The earrings belong to Queen Mathilde. CP Elisabeth often borrows a pair of earrings of her mother's big choice of modern earrings.

Pity we cannot see the pictures of Belgian TV and newspapers here. The tour in the Royal Palace Princess Elisabeth is given to those children is wonderful. An opportunity to see the beautiful chandeliers and paintings. I wonder if the Palace will be open for guided tours this summer.

  8. Elisabeth est bien belle dans cette robe estivale brodée ; ravie qu'elle ait pu choisir ces boucles d'oreilles dans le coffret à bijoux de sa mère !

This fluffy, romantic dress is breathtaking, a rare sight for ready-to-wear fashion. I would have preferred ballerinas, but that is a minor point.

I was thinking the same Virginia. Flat shoes would have worked even better with this beautiful dress.

She is a very pretty young lady, but perfonally I find this dress too childish for a young woman.
Also her body language is something that needs attention. On these pictures she seems shy, as one of the children instead if the Crown Princess.
I mean, look at the way Princess Amalia presented herself last Tuesday, that was simply amazing.

I find this comment very unfair. We all develop differently, and the Princess has the right to be shy. Experience helps, but she is young. Amalia seems less shy but she was supported by her father the king at her side, if you mean her recent appearance in the red flowing dress with her mother‘s hat, and to me she seems to be very reserved and and on her guard.

You must not compare the presence at a banquet with heads of States and a Princess that is guiding child patients in the Royal Palace and offers them a possibility to play music, to talk to her and to have a meal with them.
CP Elisabeth is not shy she speaks French, Dutch, English and German and maybe some Italian with her grand mother Queen Paola. She has got her diploma of Oxford university, she has one year done at the University of Harvard and she did a year + summer courses at the Royal Military Academy in Belgium. She was a soldier among the other soldiers of her year. She was climbing rocks and guided a rubber boat full of male soldiers. She met with President O'Bama and was lucky to meet Queen Elizabeth II of the U.K. who said to her that she was always welcome to Buckingham Palace in case she encountered problems during her studies in Oxford. She wore dresses in the past of which the comments were "too mature for her age". If you absolutely must compare her with Princess Amalia, I can tell you that Princess Elisabeth's curriculum vitae is very amazing for a young woman of 23 years old. It is better that she can feel young with the children around her than that she looks much older than her age and loaded with jewelry.

No no, she’s just 23. In these few photos of her we can only say she’s looking warm and inviting to her young guests. Let’s not criticise nor compare these young princesses - they already have so much pressure on their young shoulders.

This was a splendid visit and CP Elisabeth looked flawless.
I am more interested in her interaction with these young patients and the unforgettable day they spent in the Palace.
Fashion trends will fade away, kindness and empathy will leave an eternal trace in many hearts.

I think the first photo is just a photo taken "par hazard" (I don't know the right translation in English). It was probably a picture taken to control the light and somebody found it special and add it to the other photo's. I like it, a photo with a special effect. Maybe the princess asked if she could keep it for herself.
