On June 11, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium attended the closing concert of the 2025 Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competition at the Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels. The competition’s top three prize winners—pianists Nikola Meeuwsen, Wataru Hisasue, and Valère Burnon—performed with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Marc Albrecht. Queen Mathilde has served as patron of the Queen Elisabeth Competition since 2014.
Great ( and sweet) looking Queen, listening to our Dutch top talented pianist!
ReplyDeleteLa reine porte une combinaison avec une sorte de longue cape voilée le tout de couleur blanche ; j'aime bien la voir avec les cheveux ramenés en chignon !
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree. Queen Mathilde looks incredibly elegant, classic and sympathetic in photo 1 with her warm smile. The pearl earrings are beautiful too. Her updo looks great, especially with the high collar. The proportions are just right and the colour white makes her very visible in the gallery. Top. Beautiful couple.
DeleteJe souscris à vos propos
DeleteLa reine Mathilde est élégante dans ce vêtement.
De même, j’apprécie ses cheveux lorsqu’ils sont coiffés ainsi.
À mon avis, cela convient mieux à son visage.
-Astrid.
I think the outfit looks too much like a bride-outfit.
ReplyDeleteYes, reminiscent of that! But also quite regal for standing in a box with the whole theatre looking at her arrive. She seems to be making solid use of the current transparent cape trend. My jury is still out on the cape trend and by the time they’re back in it will be over
DeleteQueen Mathilde wore cape dresses (transparent or not) long before "the current transparant cape trend". Other royal ladies have been copied her since then.
DeleteInteresting 20:06! So she + Natan may be the trendsetters for this trend!
DeleteLovely dress on Q M!
ReplyDeleteLovely couple, very regal
ReplyDeleteQueen Mathilde wore this white jumpsuit underneath a transparant white cape for the first time in july 2024 to assist at the diner organized by the International Olympic committee under the Louvre museum in Paris. In september 2024 she wore it again to assist at a concert. She wore it too for the romantic pictures taken in the Parc of the Castle at Laeken for King Philippe's 10th anniversary of being King of the Belgians.
ReplyDeleteHere for the final concert of the Music competition Queen Elisabeth she wore white shoes with it and a little white handbag by Dior. She also wore her pearl and diamond earrings. During the former events Queen Mathilde wore light beige shoes and a clutch in the same color by Armani.
Last monday Queen Mathilde was present at the Laureate concert of the Queen Elisabeth music competition. No pictures were published here, she wore a fuchsia cape dress and her golden stiletto sandals by Dior.
Yes, she has a sweet friendly smile, a very nice ! updo and elegant beautiful earrings. But this cape thingy brings no added value at all. It is just a tiny little bit ridiculous in this flowy transparent "I am there but I am not quite there" quality. Mathilde does not need something like this.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she likes this style.
DeleteI remember when Queen Elisabeth, king Philippe's great grandmother, was patron of the music competition she always wore long white or light coloured flowy dresses sometimes worn under a thin silk coat to attend the concerts given by the candidates of the competition.
Queen Mathilde's modern jumpsuits and dresses with thin capes in a transparant fabric might be inspired on the outfits of Queen Elisabeth.
She looks beautiful, she looks so elegant, this ensemble is very flattering.
ReplyDeleteI think Queen Mathilde looks beautiful and very regal--her updo style is wonderful on her. I happen to like her in this jumpsuit. It is quite elegant and the transparent cape adds to the elegance in my opinion.
