The Royal Windsor Horse Show, founded in 1943, was a long-standing favorite of the late Queen Elizabeth II. She made her final visit to the event in 2022, just months before her passing, and had attended regularly since its inception.

On the third day of the event, the Duchess of Edinburgh wore a red and white moon-star patterned maxi dress by Ghost London, paired with a cream cable-knit wool-blend jacket by Isabel Marant that cinched at the waist. She completed her look with the 'Paloma' bag by Sophie Habsburg and a pair of chunky white espadrilles.

Lovely summer day and duchess has a summery outfit but: her dress is too long for her..as usually.

I do like both dresses, but not the combination with the jackets

I agree with those who are going to say that Sophie's dress is way too long.
In one photo it is nearly touching the ground. The length looks better on the model.
I really like the jacket but imho it does nothing for the dress.
I actually think it would look great with jeans. Cate.

Look how this jacket fits the model: very jolly petit jacket.
For Sophie it is far too big and henceforth such a spoiler on her nice dress.

  6. Jolie petite veste à un seul bouton mais sa robe rouge à très petits motifs serait parfaite avec quelque centimètres en moins car elle recouvre presque ses chaussures !

Thank you Astrid, well said. We don’t personally know any of the people in the photos, we are just seeing their and sometimes not their choices of clothing or events. It is a fun way to have a window into the life and sometime glamour we would otherwise not see.

Once again (as with the previous Suzannah dress and manly, military jacket of a day ago), here are two nice pieces that should never have been worn together.
The coat by itself, with a white tee and a red skirt or fitted trousers would have looked lovely.

I agree with the opinions above. I do not like this jacket with this dress. Sophie has been wearing random blazers with dresses for quite a while now, often in the attempt to dress up a more casual dress. Almost every time, it fails to create a cohesive look. As usual, the dress is too long. I don't care for these espadrilles with a dress. They look like they would work better with pants. I like traditional espadrilles very much, though I understand that they are not a favorite of some of the commenters here.

I also like traditional espadrilles very much, but not those worn by Duchess Sophie. I bet she never wear espadrilles made in Spain. The shape is totally different than what she wears. The problem with the duchess outfits is that she is mixing almost always accessories and dresses and jackets that are not going very well together.

Another disappointing look from Sophie. The jacket is lovely, had it been worn with a tee shirt and slim legged trouser,or even jeans, but with the long sleeved dress doesn’t work. The dress is pretty if she’d have had it fitted to her height. It’s strange how Sophie who was once named in the best dressed category has fallen so far from grace.

Yes, sadly I agree. Looking back at her photos of 15 years ago, she had such a nice easy, elegance about her style. It' s gone now. The Duchess of Gloucester outshines Sophie and Camilla every time.

Nothing to brag about. This outfit is just OK.

I like the dress and the shoes. The jacket seems to be the wrong cut/style for this dress which has flow to it. As far as the length of the dress I am wondering if perhaps she is still abiding by an old fashion rule that you must wear stockings if your legs show, hence has a longer skirt to be more comfortable.

Nice jacket, but the faux double breasted look is too bulky for the flowing dress. I feel Sophie is still adhering to archaic queen mom dress codes, and prince Edward the same. They very well may like that style and restrictions, it is apparent in their clothing choices, which is fine and they look lovely. This young couple move around more so shoe choices are important. It seems like they are caught between two worlds.
