The Polar Music Prize was founded in 1989 by the late Stig "Stikkan" Anderson, one of the great figures in the history of popular music. As the publisher, lyricist, and manager of ABBA, he played a key role in their global success. The award is named after Anderson’s legendary record label, Polar Music.

I like Victoria’s skirt and top very much on her, but I do not care for the necklace at all.

Queen Silvia looks stunning here. Her hair is gorgeous, her dress fits perfectly and she’s chosen some lovely jewelry to compliment it. I love CPV’s black dress too. It’s fun and different, perfect for this event. The necklace is quite a statement and I wish she had worn the simpler earrings shown on the model. As it stands I think there’s one too many focal points in the outfit. (V.M.)

Victoria is stunning! I love everything about this look. Hair and makeup are gorgeous. I really love her statement necklace and I don't mind the earrings with it because it is a glamourous evening. Her top pairs beautifully with this yummy skirt.

Agree, one of her best evening looks ever! This shoulderline is very flattering, and the jewels are marvellous. Going to take a look at that collection now ;-)

Add me to the list of loving everything that Victoria is wearing - the skirt, the top, and the jewellery. So fun, quirky and stylish. She looks wonderful and yes, this was the perfect type of event to wear these flamboyant pieces. I love ABBA too. Big part of my early teen music years.
(Also remember Stig Anderson and Michael B. Tretow who were their producer and sound engineer if I recall correctly).

  4. The Queen looks stunning, the gown and accompanying shawl looks impeccable. Love her choice of jewellery. Her hair looks really very good. Victoria looks gorgeous. The gown suits her. The necklace I like, its so different, that appeals to me. She wears it well. The earrings not so sure, maybe something more subtle would have been of better benefit, considering the scale of the necklace.

    1. Fully agree with Ava, the queen is gorgeous in all respects. Prnss Victoria looks quite good as well, I particularly like the asymmetric skirt. The jewelry fits so good with the outfit. A pity that her frizzy hair don't give her confidence to try a different hair style.

    Victoria’s best look ever!
    Smashing dress!
And the beautifull bouquet against the black of her dress: just beautiful!

Victoria looking absolutely gorgeous. The necklace is a bit edgy for me, as in I would not wear it, but I appreciate it as a centre piece and from a local artist. Silvia looks brilliant. Can’t quite see the shoes but I’m loving how she’s combining glamour with flat shoes to look after her feet and looking absolutely glamorous without further damage. The Royal men all looking very handsome indeed and so fun to see the old rockers!

CP Victoria looks wonderful. The whole outfit is very appropriate for this event.
I like her modern necklace and earrings. She is a young woman and can wear this artistic jewelry made by a Swedish artist. Her make-up is done very well. She is a beautiful crown-princess.

Victoria looks gorgeous. Her asymmetrical voluminous tulle skirt shows off her beautiful legs and this kind of shoulderline looks extremely flattering and goes well with her edgy necklace. One of my favorite appearances by her for sure!

Princess Victoria looks sensational in this black evening dress and her chandelier necklace is even more eye- catching.
I would wear the whole ensemble in no time!
The blonde lady in the red evening dress is equally gorgeous.
Queen Silvia's silver (sequined?) dress and scarf look lovely.

Paloma.

The Queen is excellent and elegant as almost always. I can't take off my eyes from Victoria's necklace - love it! The best that can happen to this type of neckline and to Victoria's beautiful decolletée - at the same time it is very ontopic re water, because according to the description on the jeweller's homepage: "The Huldra’s Neckpiece evokes the quiet poetry of the forest at dawn. Branches curl and twist their way up around the neck ( .... ) Scattered along the winding silver are small dewdrops, glistening like forest secrets caught in the morning lightfseems to symbolize falling waterdrops. " I also would have opted for a simpler earring with this spectacular neckpiece.

  15. Forse una delle scelte più belle di Victoria, trucco favoloso e bellissima scollatura.
E si, con quel girocollo "opera orafa" avrei indossato ai lobi dei punti luce, ma va bene lo stesso.

The more I look at the lower part of Victoria's gown, the more I get can- can vibes...
It Is meant to be a compliment as only ladies with superb legs could dance can- can.
    Well done to her.

  20. Stunning Victoria! This is a smashing look. I like everything about it.
I´m not normally a fan of black gowns but this one is balanced well by the beautiful bouquet, the statement silver jewellery and some skin showing. The decollete/neckline and short sleeves are super gorgeous and the leg slit gives the dress a subtly sexy edge.
This look is much more successful than similar looks from the past (for the same event). I particularly remember a lemon yellow and a soft pink tulle dress, both with tiered skirts and exposing her legs a bit. Both were sculptural and playful but failed to create a good overall silhouette. This black one ticks all the boxes and it´s a winner.
In any case, I like that Victoria "tar ut svängarna" (=tries something more unconventianal) once in a while.

As for Silvia - great hair day even for her usually high standard. The gown is unremarkable compared to Victoria´s but it´s very elegant all the same. The material seems nice and I like the embellishment around neck and sleeves. Overall though, I think her look lacks something and I cannot put my finger on what it is. Maybe a more interesting neckline (square? scalloped?) or some contrasting colour or maybe a thin belt? Maybe the embellishments are too subtle, or she simply needed a different colour than this somewhat lifeless gray.
