On the afternoon of Wednesday, May 28, 2025, Queen Máxima paid an official working visit to Fairphone in Amsterdam, the winner of the 2024 King Willem I Prize in the category of Sustainable Entrepreneurship. During her visit, Queen Máxima was given a tour of Fairphone’s offices, where she met with the product, impact, and commercial teams and learned more about the company’s contributions to the sector.
The King Willem I Foundation was established in 1958 at the initiative of De Nederlandsche Bank, together with several organizations connected to the business sector. Its aim is to stimulate the national economy and enhance the reputation of Dutch entrepreneurship.
For this occasion, Queen Máxima wore a tweed jacket by Chanel. She first wore this jacket 17 years ago, in 2008, when she attended the opening of a cultural center in the town of Lintelo.
I love this tweed coat and I love the way Maxima has worn it now with dark trousers rather than the green skirt of past times. Once again, I admire her for pulling so many re-wears from the furthest reaches of her closet 10-25 years old) that we have seen in recent weeks and months, and this jacket is no exception. At first I thought it seemed a bit tight for her now, but in one photo it looks just fine with no creases. It seemed to be pulling in other photos but then no different than when she wore this 17 years ago. So perhaps this is how it's meant to look. Well done Max.

This is a great jacket that is just as stylish and interesting today as it was when it was bought. I also prefer it worn with the dark trousers. Her jewelry is good too - the statement earrings are edged to match the necklace. Overall the jewelry enhances the outfit but doesn't compete with the jacket.

I would have thrown the jacket in the garbage many years ago. Why does Maxima, who could dress well, present herself like this? Irene
ReplyDeleteOoh do let us know if you’re throwing any of your Channel jackets in the garbage, and we’ll be there in a flash to dig through and save them! I think she looks fantastic in this colour and jacket. This is a more muted Maxima day and she looks youthful, joyful and very appropriate for a corporate office visit.

Anyway, it looks lovely and the combo with the navy pants is spot on.
Love her nail polish and wonder what brand her bag Is as It Is reminiscent of a well- known Chanel design.

This jacket doesn't fit anymore, it was and is too tight and besides, it doesn't flatter her at all.
ReplyDeleteI like Queen Maxima in these navy trousers combined. with an old Chanel jacket of 2008. She wears it better now than before (last picture on the left) with the balloon skirt or bubble skirt. I found another picture of this outfit where she is wearing it with olive green shoes with a large strap and a clutch that looks like those made by Fabienne Delvigne. Queen Mathilde has them in several colors to go with her outfits.
ReplyDeleteI cannot see which bag she is wearing now. I know Queen Maxima has at least a couple of the classic Chanel bags with a chain, but I do not think this bag is one of them.
It may be Chanel, but the jacket doesn't fit, it's simply too tight and the colour doesn't do anything for her. Maybe sell it on a vintage clothing site as someone already suggested?
