Pic 4 for the win. Cute friendship moment between king and queen! I’m undecided on Mary’s dress… on the one hand the material and print is beautifully feminine and romantic … on the other hand are there just too many frills?… perhaps to simply remove the frill over the top of the sleeve would make a good difference, and to then perhaps lower the neck to a more open round neck would suit me more … but hey it’s not about me, what?!?, and Mary looks delightful. I love the colour (but not height which throws off the leg proportions) of her shoes!

Agee. Often florals can feel like too much but I'm really liking this look. I think she's done it just right this time and it's very Spring-like for the season.

On a side note: someone really needs to paint those stairs in the back ground or put a runner on them! They look the stairs going down into a basement.

Not quite feeling the 'Little House on the Prairie' vibe here. This dress has a more contemporary, bold feel to it—definitely not stuck in the past! Nice tried though 😊

Yes. She looks good and elegant, as in 99 per cent of her presence at official and private events.

  5. I love this dress, so summery and soft.
Yet i wonder, if Mette-Marit or Victoria were to wear this exactly dress i dont think i would like it. Victoria has a great body, so that's not reason, or it is? Maybe its because Mary is so much more delicate? Any thoughts?

I agree that the other two women who are more curvy would not look the same. Q Mary because she is so petite the fabric flows over her as it was designed.

Hi Luna, it´s a good reflection. Imo I think it depends very much on their hair.
Mary have a glamorous style here. A strict updo, e.g a bun easily gives the Little prairie look or Mary Poppins! At least with this Erdem. Maja

I agree with you. For whatever reason this is working for Mary but I'm not so sure it would work on the other ladies. Hmm. They often all choose the same dress; maybe we will get to compare and contrast and do a, "Who wore it better?" discussion.

    4. Maja, yes you got it, is the hair! What a difference it makes, while I don't find Victoria's style too severe as many in this blog do, it does change the video to the look!
Thank you for sharing your opinions.

Maybe instead of always repeating yourself, you could offer something a bit more original? After all, there's always room for a fresh perspective!

I don’t understand better. She is wearing a pretty feminine dress. Would you rather she wear a slip dress to show herself.

    5. If someone says that someone can do better everybody is waiting for a further explanation and an example of what is "better". Now your comment is only empty, pointless words dear anon at 14:51. I'm sure that you are capable to write a better comment ;)
I don't think this dress is a "safe choice". IMO it's a great choice for this occasion. How many of us would look good in that dress? Not many I think. A safe choice would be a suit or a dress suit.

“Mary can do better” was exactly the type of comment the less imaginative and less caring teachers would write on kids’ school reports in my era. What did it mean? - a critical feel without giving any explanation or help as to what was wrong or what needed to be done. For sure, we can all do better, but this sort of statement feels unpleasant when a random stranger says it about a beautifully dressed hardworking Queen.

Try to connect words making sense and explain in which way Mary can do better, please.

  7. It's a beautful print but it's overpowering. Too much of a good thing. This fabric would look more attractive broken up with separates -blouse and skirt mixed with more solid pieces.

  8. seems that Mary is bored with fashion and just sticks to whatever fashion brands British royals wear

C'est tout à fait le genre de robe que porte la princesse de Galles.
Je n'aime pas le style Erdem. Peut-être que si elle était moins longue et non plissée elle pourrait me plaire, les deux tons de bleus sont jolis. Paloma.

  10. I am not terribly fan of the dress either, but the combination with the shoes is perfect.

This is the same dress she had on the day before (earlier in the day?) when they boarded The Royal Yacht Dannebrog. Almost looks completely different with the navy hat and jacket worn with it.

Erdem can be a hit or miss. But this is definitely a hit. Queen Mary has worn this dress on numerous occasions and on each occasion she looks beautiful in it. The length is perfect and fits her perfectly. I’m glad she went for a lighter shade of blue shoe,a darker blue would have contrasted too much from the light blue of the dress.

  13. I like the dress, but its a very busy pattern, I think that is the reason I just like it! The fall of the skirt is beautiful, flows well on movement. The length of the dress is perfect. I think she is wearing Sapphire and diamond earrings. Her shoe color is gorgeous.

Erdem not my favorite designer at all. But Mary seems to pull this feminine type dress Off better than most. I would lose the shoulder frills and that would help a bit. This type of a dress would look better if it was shorter - just below the knee imo.

Beautiful queen and a beautiful dress. That is how florals should be done.
