On May 7, 2025, King Charles III and Queen Camilla hosted the first garden party of the 2025 season at Buckingham Palace in London. The King and Queen were joined by the Princess Royal, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester. Their Majesties met guests who had traveled from across the country to attend the event.

Well I must say that I do not like this dress on QC. The colour is nice, the hat is nice, but those pleats do no favours to her silhouette. The deep v could be what is throwing it off for me, perhaps in a more coordinated blue of the dress would look better. It must be very comfortable to wear with the loose waist line. Everyone else are in rewears, PS looks nice, PA I must say I like the cut and fabric of her coat.the men look dapper. A bit of a let down

I don't agree. I think, Camilla's dress is very much to her advantage, it flatters her, very good style, the pleated skirt a welcome change from her usual style.

The deep lace V on Camilla's dress is quite a good feature, elongates and decorates at the same time, saving us from the sight of some more buttoned fronts. Impressive hat, as always. The Princess Royal is elegant, I like the colour, the shine and the cut of her coat. From what I can see, the Duchess of G. is her always highly elegant self. Sophie's hat is again this quite awful half-mast style and her dress is again Erdem at Erdem's worst: I cannot detect any attractive design feature besides the flower overload. If it had to be this dress, a simple cream hat that looks like a hat and not like an Unidentified Flying Object with feathers collected while being underway would have been a better choice.

I'm loving this slightly less formal look of the King and Queen for this Spring garden party. It makes them so much more relatable to their subjects, who are their guests after all. Camilla looks wonderful, and her hat is superbe. The D.of G is my next favourite (that collar and the pearls, just wish the dress length was a bit shorter), and Anne after that. Sophie is my least favourite. The dress does not suit her and her hat (as I've always said of this 'upright saucer' style) looks ridic.

Now this is the style that looks good on Sophie. Perfect length. Not too much material engulfing her petite frame. I really hope she sticks to this style! This is a winner.

Love it that in this chaotic world something stays the same, be it an English Royal tea-party with Queen Camilla as “ my fair Lady” ( no harm meant, I mean her dress and hat), and all ladies and gentlemen well dressed.

Time for Garden party. Like the tele dress Q Camilla is wearing a little different from the other styles. Love the brooch. Anne looked nice, maybe a little too shiny. The DoG needs a bit of color; it should be a little fun at these events. The DoE's dress is lovely, but the pattern is a bit too big for her, OMO.

At second look - Anne was the best dressed. The three stranded pearl necklace from Her Late Majesty was just an exquisite icing on the cake. How I miss her and what she stood for. I like and value the Duchess of E. so much - what a pity she lacks taste.

The Queen looks frumpy in this style, it reminds me of the late Queens Grandmother’s style, it just comes to mind. The thin band brings notice to the waist, which should not be highlighted. She needs more structure in her dresses and her undergarments need to be the correct ones for her outfits. Not showing the waist band through the fabric, like the other day in her blue dress, this is when the stylist should step up.

Not to have a defined waistline of one's own is not necessarily something that has to be corrected. And I think it cannot be corrected anyway. Why not accept that she does not have the figure she had some decades ago? Some of us have, some of us don't. This talk about undergarments is, IMHO, a bit offensive, because it suggests that something is wrong and has to be corrected by any available means to reach an impossible ideal really nobody needs - not the young and not the old has to hide what is not corresponding to a youthful ideal. "More structure": means among other things the V-neckline and waistband which I don't think is that bad. The other day she had a flowing dress without a defined waist and she did not look any different as far as her waist is concerned.

The Princess Royal, Anne, as usual, top notch
    DoE, lovely outfit and hat
DoG, well put together outfit, hat and jewelry
Cam, hat is quite nice, but not with that odd-shaped dress, nor in that color
    Gentlemen, dapper as always

I don't like that masquerade we see every year at the garden parties and Ascot.
Queen Elizabeth II was dressed more up-to-date during these events than what we see now. It looks like we are in the middle of the series concerning Downton Abbey.

  13. The Princess Royal looks beautifully groomed. The triple strand pearl necklace is a wonderful addition. DoE looks nice in this dress. The positive is the fabric is more minimal with this dress, plus dress is a good length. I love the cut and style of her dress, but not the pattern on the fabric.
Queen Camilla looks good, I like the bodice pattern and neckline shape but at the waist area, I'm not sure what it is, but I am not a fan of that area, the skirt though has pleats so nice movement in the skirt. The turquoise and diamond brooch is gorgeous. The Prince Edward looks well groomed and attired. The DoG looks lovely, her pearl necklace is beautiful, the pearls are a good size.

  14. Sorry to say that I’m quite underwhelmed across the board. Queen Camilla’s hat is gorgeous, I like the colour of her outfit and commend her for a change from her usual style but I don’t think it quite works. D of Gloucester as smart as ever but a bit sombre. Princess Royal looks good but the fabric of her coat is too shiny and Duchess Sophie looks good but as always the length of the dress spoils it.

Love Sophie's outfit. It is by far my favorite. The pattern is great and daring and the style of the dress is unique and quite flattering on her. The hat is the perfect compliment to the dress.

Wow--what a fabulous fashion start to the Garden Party season! Love what I am seeing from all the BRF ladies. I love this style change from Queen Camilla--the lace inset is wonderful as is the pleating of the skirt. Her hat is classic Camilla--big, gorgeous, and superb! The Princess Royal looks wonderful--what a beautiful blue silk coat and hat pairing. I'd love to see more of her brooch. Sophie!!!! Oh, I cannot wait for Ascot now! Love this Edem dress on her, the floral pattern is quite chic and not fussy in the slightest. Then her har--again, vintage Sophie. A fascinator that is large enough to not look like it is bolted onto her head and is perfect with the design of the fabric of her dress. The Duchess of Gloucester is elegant as always and navy blue is so lovely her with her gorgeous white hair. I like her har--great flourish added onto what is really a pillbox hat. Then there's her jewelry--beautiful sapphire earring and those ginormous pearls. All of the gentlemen look fashionably dapper and debonaire in their morning suits--KCIII looks so wonderful in his gray suit. He certainly inherited his father's sense of style!

Paloma.

That seam cutting across Camilla’s middle at exactly the wrong place is most unfortunate. Can’t imagine what her dressmakers were thinking with this one. Princess Anne and the DofGloucester take top marks here for me, although I’d have loved to see the Duchess in a spring hue. — Jane
