  1. Ce joli modèle de robe n'est pas à l'avantage de Sophie mais plutôt à celui du mannequin qui a une morphologie idÊale !

Nice dress with a beautiful fresh colour. Only minor issue: the duchess should wear a better bra.

Agree, with the way the bodice is shaped a good foundation is needed

She did it again ... Sophie seems to have an overly romantic taste when choosing dresses. This is not a bit better than her self-belted dressing gown the other day.

It's so strange that at the photo set at the very bottom, the photo of Sophie and the first photo of the model are in an almost identical pose, but one looks far more elegant than the other in the same dress. It's almost like a "how this dress is meant to be worn" and "how this dress was not meant to be worn" type of comparison.

To tell the truth (I mean my truth of course :-), I don't like this dress on the model either. Sophie is pretty enough not having to be overly careful about what she can wear and what not. She does not lack figure, she lacks taste especially if it comes to dresses ... not quite always but most of the time.

Thanks for your comment Anon 14:53.
I think in Sophies case she buys dresses (and I mean dresses, not other clothing) that conform to her proportions. So if she is top heavy she'll buy dresses that are a size bigger so as to feel comfortable in those areas. Unfortunately this then throws the other dress elements off, such as the sleeves and the hem length. We've seen this in countless dresses she has worn in the past. She should be buying dresses that are built for women of her proportions which then also take sleeves and hemline and waist proportions into consideration in the original design. Buying a size or two larger than your natural size isn't the answer to wearing a dress that you like but can't otherwise fit into properly.

14:53 loved your reinterpretation of “to tell you the truth” - made me laugh.

I think that her dress would have looked better with delicate sandals and if it would have been a tad shorter.

Absolutely agree! However, with Sophie, that is highly unlikely. She looks better in pant suits, but she doesn't seem to care.

The colour is beautiful on Sophie. The difference I see between the model is that the sleeves are nice on the model but the puffed sleeve on Sophie is enormous. It the puff part was tailored away I think this dress would suit her much better. A simple change.

Yes the sleeve cap is very different, to puffy on Sophie’s dress.

Interesting how opinions differ. To me, the dress is absolutely delightful! Yes, agree about the bra, but the lovely dress says 'hello summer'! At least to me it does. - Ellie

The dress worn by the model has different sleeves (at the shoulders) than Sophie's. I prefer the sleeves on the model. I am going to say something I usually do not say on anyone but this time it is too much visible, Duchess Sophie needs to wear another bra. I think she is wearing a bra that is not underwired. I saw it already with other dresses of her. She definitely should change her underwear.

The ensemble would be improved if the skirt were not so long and voluminous, and with different footwear.

    1. My thoughts exactly. From the waist up, I really like this outfit. The puffed sleeves and little buttons are very ‘50’s’ The colour is beautiful but the clumpy wedges with this style of dress are a very strange choice and of course there is the usual problem with length

Sometimes one just has to accept that a garment does nothing for you.

The wedges are not appropriate to wear with this dress.

I like the dress on the model, and can see why Sophie chose it. However the excessive sleeve poof and the heavier sandals changes the look completely. The footwear has to be more open. And yes better undergarments for sure. You have to look at your silhouette to see that the garment falls as it should.

The colour is refreshing and very flattering, but the look is Laura Ashley revisited, somewhat girly-girly for this age group.

I want to like this dress - such a pretty color for Sophie - but the puffed sleeves look overly large on her and the line of buttons on the bodice does not look flattering on her to me.

She loves these wedges in summer ... somebody should convince her to just let them go for good. Especially from the side, they make one's feet look kind of deformed.

Wonderful and butiful woman but those typical old lady style of Brittish flower dresses are just plain ugly. Makes her look old!

The floral designs the British like are fine, they just dont suit everyone as we can see with the lady in the first photo as well. Sometimes fabric on a curvy lady is the issue. The buttons of the less endowed model fall as designed, then you put someone with a bustline it throws the line of buttons off. I like the dress but it is just okay on Sophie. I bet Lady Louise would look great in it.

Nice dress and color, not a fan of the sandals. Do like her hairstyle.
