On February 4, 2025, the Princess of Wales visited the National Portrait Gallery in London to launch a new initiative from the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, aimed at helping young children develop essential social and emotional skills. The Princess of Wales, who has been Patron of the National Portrait Gallery since 2011, also met with its newly appointed Director, Victoria Siddall, as well as chief executives and expert practitioners from five other galleries across the UK.
The new initiative is based on the Shaping Us Framework and has been developed by the Centre for Early Childhood in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery, of which the Princess has been Patron since 2011. The aim of the framework is to raise awareness and promote understanding of the importance of social and emotional skills across society.

I agree on the "miss", yes. Brown is a difficult color to wear and this combination is disappointing.

ردحذفI was taught as a child by my mother that brown and black should not be worn together, but that was a lifetime ago. All those "rules" do not apply today. It is considered a stylish combination now. I can't be sure, but the stripe in her trousers may be the same color as her blazer. I am happy to see her wearing something more contemporary.

ردحذفTerrible is a harsh word. The colors and patterns might not be the easiest to pair. Sometimes the mix of textures and hues works for a bold statement, even if it’s not everyone's cup of tea.
حذفApparently dark brown and gray is a popular combination this winter. It doesn't work for me in this outfit because the two dark tones are too close and don't provide enough contrast. The combination would work better if the brown were a camel color or the gray were a lighter shade, but that's just my preference. Although now that I think about it, my husband has dark gray flannel trousers and a camel sport jacket that I find very attractive, so possibly that's made it hard for me to be objective!

حذفI really like this outfit! The dark brown and dark gray look wonderful together to me. I wonder if the trousers pinstripe is the same color as Catherine's blazer. I think this look is beautifully put together. I also like seeing her wear more separates--the suits are fine but this is a really good change. The only thing I would change would be for her to wear a stronger lip color.

ردحذفIt did cross my mind yesterday that this downbeat outfit was an attempt to reinforce her desire that focus was on her causes rather than her clothes. This seems to have been the view of a number of commentators in the British press today, quality as well as tabloid. Inevitably, the lack of obvious glamour has caused more coverage than her usual look.
