On November 29, 2024, Dutch King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, along with Princess Amalia, Princess Alexia, and Princess Ariane, attended the traditional photo session at the Begijnhof in Amsterdam. The session was held in honor of the city’s 750th anniversary celebration. The Begijnhof is one of the oldest hofjes in Amsterdam. A hofje (courtyard) refers to a courtyard surrounded by almshouses.
The Begijnhof is one of the oldest parts of Amsterdam, with a history spanning more than 600 years. It is a group of historic buildings, mostly private dwellings, centered around the courtyard. Hofjes have existed since the Middle Ages, providing housing for elderly people, primarily women. These courtyards were privately funded and served as an early form of social security. In the Netherlands there are still a number of hofjes in use.
During the traditional photo session, Queen Máxima wore a wool-cashmere coat from Natan's Fall/Winter 2021 ready-to-wear collection. Princess Amalia wore a handmade melange wool coat from Massimo Dutti, while Princess Alexia wore a wool-blend belted coat from Zara. Princess Ariane wore a fuchsia cashmere belted midi coat from Alicia Audrey, a Belgium-based haute couture fashion house.
Can't deny they're a good looking family. And cute little Mambo fits in perfectly with them.

All coats are oversized. I like the color and the coat of Ariane. I don't like Alexia's coat and look at all. Máxima's look is bold, but all that white and those kilometers of fabrics don't please me. Well, it's Natan. The best dressed is Amalia.
ردحذفThese coats are fashion. If the name of the brand was not mentionned, you wouldn't even know which one was Natan. All white is fashion too, look at Queen Letizia. Princess Ariane is becoming every time I see her more and more beautiful. Princess Alexia is the one who wears a dark coat to make the contrast in the picture. There are 2 ladies wearing boots and a skirt and 2 who are wearing pants. All this is for the picture. These coats are worn as well by Queen Maxima as by her daughters. I like it when mother and daughters can wear the same coat. If you buy 4 coats everyone of them can choose which coat they wish to wear on which day.

ردحذفOddly, i like Amalia outfit the most. Its just natural and not fussy. Her sisters seem to be dressing like old rich ladies still. Maxima is brave for wearing white with a very excited dog jumping up. She would have looked better in narrower trousers too but seems to favour them. Km

I never saw any of them dressed in coats like that and believe me in my country there are still "begijnhoven" where you can see these women who live there together and who are praying, and live a simple live, who are working in their little garden and do no harm to anybody. A bid of respect for this community would do no harm.

حذفI agree with you, a bit of humour can do no harm. But before you write down something better inform you about the difference between a nun and a beguine. 9:01 is hurting the nuns and the beguines. Maybe these women do not mean much to her/him, but they are still women and deserve not to be used in a joke just like queens or princesses do not deserve to be laughed out.
Ariane is the nicest of them - she seems to be a natural and friendly young woman.

Never heard so many bad comments on Queen Maxima and her daughters. What about Maria Teresa who is also wearing these coats. What about Princess Madeleie and Princess Victoria who also have the same coats. Queen Mary and Princess Isabella same coats. CP Mette Marit same coat. And I probably forgot all the others.

حذفBeautiful photos of a beautiful family. I like everyone's outfit and especially love Ariane's bright pink coat. I love Amalia's overall look the best--she looks beautiful, relaxed, and comfortable in an everyday look. Alexia looks good but have to admit I'm not a fan of the huge collar of her shirt--I think a turtleneck would look better. Maxima's choice of all white is a good counterpoint to the princesses multi-color looks and she looks good.
