On July 17, 2024, Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako hosted a tea party at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo for heads of state and other guests from 14 countries and territories visiting Japan for the Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting 2024. The 23 guests from island nations and territories, such as the Cook Islands, met with the Emperor and the Empress, as well as Crown Prince Akishino and his daughter, Princess Kako.
Les empereurs sont élégants mais je n'oublie pas la princesse Kako délicieuse dans son kimono dont les motifs aux délicates couleurs !

DeleteDear jonesnori, Interesting information .... thanks.
DeleteKimonos Re beautiful and I like the emperors tie that has just a touch of coulor from the empress kimono. The attention to these small details is superb
ReplyDeleteGorgeous kimonos for Empress Masako and Princess Kako! Lovely to see Kako participating here too. Both Masako and Kako look beautiful in their traditional dress.

Beautiful. I notice that Princess Kako is appropriately wearing the extra-long sleeves traditionally worn by a young, unmarried woman, whereas the Empress is wearing the shorter sleeves traditional for a married woman. (I don't know a whole lot about kimono tradition other than that.)
ReplyDelete皇族と結婚した女性は、結婚後一年に限り袖の長い着物「ふりそで」を着ることが出来ます。

Dear jonesnori Could you give me/us some information on a Japanese tea party? Or a link to information available on the net. Thanks in advance.
DeleteAnon 08:01, I didn't know that! Thank you. That's interesting. Would you happen to have an answer for deadeggs' question? I very much appreciate your input. I was born in Ōsaka and lived nearby until I was six years old, but that was sixty years ago, and my family is not Japanese.
Delete日本で言う「おちゃかい」は歓談が目的の集まりです。
