On July 8, 2024, Japan's Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako attended the 114th Japan Academy Prize ceremony held at the Japan Academy Building in Ueno. The Japan Academy Prize is awarded by the Japan Academy in recognition of academic theses, books, and achievements. An award ceremony has been held every year since 1911. The Emperor has been visiting it since 1949. The three prizes awarded during the ceremony are: The Imperial Prize, the Japan Academy Prize, and the Duke of Edinburgh Prize.
Le couple impérial souriant paraît très complice. Masako est délicieuse dans la couleur rose pâle de son tailleur mais toujours le même style de chapeau - J'aurais bien vu un peu plus de couleurs dans la pièce où s'est déroulée la cérémonie de remise du prix de l'Académie du Japon.
