On May 14, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima paid a regional visit to Hogeland in the province of Groningen. The King and Queen visited the municipalities of Het Hogeland and Eemsdelta. The King and Queen made this visit to discuss the cultural and natural history heritage, the opportunities and challenges in the agricultural sector and fishing, and social cohesion and quality of life in the region.
The King and Queen started the day with a visit to the Tirrel building, which houses various organizations in the social domain, from the fields like healthcare, education and sports. The Royal Couple then visited Zoutkamp, which was originally a fishing port, and is still known for shrimp fishing.

Maxima looks beautiful here. The dress is very feminine and Spring-like and fits her well. And her hair is styled in a lovely way that is attractive but not distracting.

Today's schedule, visit includes sitting at a table, with a formal floral display, in front of a background of hay bales, then leaning over to 'pet/stroke' a cow's head, in a lace dress. The only thing I can say positive about her outfit was the hair looked good in the low bun on the back. For the record, I grew up on a grain/dairy farm. NO ONE EVER wore lace frocks in the cow barn, or sat in front of hay bales. What a sad state of affairs.

ReplyDeleteI never really liked this dress. Guipure lace looks rather heavy. I like the color which is a fashion color again but not the color of her accessories, which do not match the dress. Queen Maxima always has worn these shoes with a lot of outfits. I think she must have more than one pair of these. The headpiece (bandeau + fascinator in one) is really outdated.
