  1. This skirt is beautiful, hand made, local african craft. Those kitschy golden sandalettes make it unjustice.

  2. The skirt with the crisp white shirt is a smart combination.
The yellow dress looks great against her skin color.
I wish she would wear more bright colors like this.

The yellow dress looks beautiful. But without intending to be offensive I do have to agree with other comments of previous days that the cleavage of the beige dress is far too low. And not because it is a Muslim country but simply because of the fact that this is an official visit. And therefore I personally would have left the Hollywood glam at home and kept my wardrobe more businesslike or at least appropriate for a school visit etc. I.P.

This is not an official visit. They aren't there on behalf of the british royal family or the UK. This is a private visit. Meghan can wear what ever she wants even Queen Elisabeth in 1956 showed cleavage and had bare arms, and shoulders.

      @ I.P.
When do you and others will understand that Harry and Meghan are there because of their own projects and business affairs and have nothing to do any more with the RF or the UK. They are not working royals any more and are only responsible for their own business projects like in any other business company. They can dress how they want and when they want. There are people on this blog who like to read about them and others like yourself who don't. The best publicity they can have is from people like you. If you hate them so much the best to do is to ignore them or scroll down. You are making a fool of yourself each time you and other haters are writing down their stupid comments over and over again.

      Dear Anon 17:37
First: I wrote that I don't want to offend anybody
Second: I don't hate anybody so don't assume I hate them
Third: you are right. Everybody can and should dress the way they want. But this is a fashion blog and I just gave my personal opinion to which I am entitled to
And last: I do mind people who reply in such a disrespectful way you did. Maybe it would be better to reread ones sentences and relax before reacting in such an aggressive manner.
      With all respect. I.P.

@I.P. Again, for you and the people in the back, your idea of "Hollywood" is comical. Nicer clothes, clothes that have some style to them, do not translate to Hollywood. You are probably accustomed to very conservative attire, (the British Royals come to mind). There is an entire range of fashion between Royal Conservative and Hollywood. It has been said on this blog in the past that the so-called Hollywood elite are not recognizable in their everyday lives, probably dressing worse than the rest of us. When they do dress in their "Hollywood" looks, they are not dresses like Meghan is wearing here. Please educate yourself. When Hollywood is used on this site, it is always meant as an insult.

@1:03. Personal attacks “educate yourself”, etc claiming you are right and putting down the other for being wrong in your eyes are not welcome here. We comment on the fashion and don’t attack each other. Opposing views are fine, but they are all opinion and not right nor wrong so be kind along the way. Also, please add your name or initials. @"Bob" I have been here for years and used my signature for years. The reason I no longer sign my name is not something I care to share with you. "Please educate yourself", which is what I wrote, is not a personal attack. Don't start trouble. Everything I wrote is the truth. It may be that the people here get too much of their information from gossip rags, but fashion wise, these styles are not "Hollywood". I could easily buy similar styles, and Meghan often wears brands that are readily sourced. She dresses high-low (mixing high and low end brands), which makes it easy to elevate a simple outfit. Having a more clean style makes it easier to copy that look as well. I know her looks are not what many consider European, but that does not make them over the top, red carpet looks. That is where a little education comes in. Promoting a film is different than promoting a cause, even if a red carpet is involved. While her taste is different that what is usually seen here, I find it refreshing. It is certainly never over the top as Hollywood can be. That fashion serves a different purpose.

@Bob: Thank you for your kind words. Honestly I felt miserable after anon's attacks. I never intend to hurt anybody and I am an educated person. Questioning my intelligence was out of place. That being said I do hope that writing about one's personal opinion can be tolerated next time I.P.

I.P. You’re welcome. To tell each other off for having the wrong opinion is ludicrous and sometimes it is pretty offensively done, which is terrible in what is meant to just be a fun blog! For some reason the Meghan posts bring out the worst in people and there’s a small snarky contingent telling people who have the “wrong opinion” not just that they’re “wrong” but they need to change! Dear Renee, Meghan and Harry are not constantly bashing the royal family. The Duke of Sussex’s book laid out his life’s story from his perspective, which he had every right to do. If the royal family came out badly in the book, that is on them. Since then, they have stopped talking about the family. This couple are members of the British royal family and always will be. They may be estranged from parts of the family at present, but that does not change the fact that Harry is a son of the King. His and Meghan’s children are Prince and Princess. They have stepped down as senior working royals but continue in their good works for Invictus and other projects as independent individuals. Helen covers their activities properly here. Fashion observation is that Meghan’s yellow dress is beautiful and suits her well.

The skirt is quite nice. The yellow dress is a cheerful color but looks voluminous on Meghan - but I can see perhaps why she might have chosen it to wear with the fabric that is draped over her left shoulder (I don’t know the correct term for it). Either your ignorance is showing or you were very clumsy in your attempt at an insult. You can see she is not alone in what she is wearing. It is a reasonable assumption that it is a cultural garment without knowing anymore than the fact that she is in Nigeria. She is wearing an absolutely stunning dress (a rewear), and has been gifted shawl. If you don't have the information, you can ask and someone here may know. If not, look it up. It is easy enough to find out. If your only point is to be one more toxic person on a fashion blog, why bother?

Diana had a difficult relationship with her mother, who she said let me down terribly with my wedding. In the last few months of Diana's life, Shand Kydd would write her daughter letters, but they would be returned unopened. Do you see the trend? Not all families can cope with having a member marrying into a royal family. Can't we stop this? Please.

@Mia When you read tabloids, I suppose that is the confusion you would have. Not all parents put their children first. While most parents live by the adage, "You are only as happy as your unhappiest child", some parents are quite happily unattached. It is difficult to understand how parent/child relationships become toxic, especially for people that are lucky enough to be blessed with healthy relationships. Sadly, it can happen. The older I get, the more I see it. As a last resort, the healthy choice is to live more separated lives. Instead of speculating about things we can't possibly know the absolute truth about, we should mind our own business.

His mother told her story, and his father told his story. When Charles told his story we learned his father was a bully, who mocked him and made his childhood lonely. He also said his father forced him into a loveless marriage when he forced him to marry Diana, and his mother was cold and to busy being Queen. All this according to Charles. The fact that he talks nonsense about the first time he was with a woman outside a pub in a field (no gentleman would do that) or how he took drugs, that's his business. But Harry drags his brother into his whining... He's jealous of his older brother, calls him his "archenemy", gets mad at Kate over little things like lip gloss or stupid clothes. It causes them stress, no wonder stress then increases the risk of disease.

I am never going to understand how a family can bear children for the purpose of fulfilling particular roles/jobs. It is a very cruel practice. We all know that it has come up with generations in the past that their dreams and desires have been shot down because of their royal status and expectations. Royals of the past haven't been able to live their own lives due to being born "royal". This includes who they will marry and how they can live their lives, even what they can name their children. Charles was very outspoken about his upbringing, and yet he made many mistakes himself. He chose time with Camilla over time with his young family. He focused on William over Harry. Charles has never been a parent first, following royal tradition, because children are born to fulfill roles. I do have hope for William as I see the way he has put his family first during Kate's medical leave, but he is still his father's son. This is a terribly sad situation all around. This once close family has imploded because Harry chose to step back. If it was put in any other context, "My son doesn't want to work at my company so I am going to disown him!", the world would see the father as a bully. Children have a right to live their own lives and deserve to be loved by their family for being independent, not being disowned for it. If he had been allowed to work as a part time royal, as I believe he wanted to do when Archie was born, things could look very different now. At the very least, Charles needs to remember his public displeasures about his parents and the fact that he wasn't disowned for it.

It looks like the people of the UK don't want him to represent them even part time. He only wants to choose lucrative engagements and also use the royal title to make money. He wants pomp, he wants to be important.

  24. The skirt is well crafted and looks good with the blouse. The yellow dress however, is too ill fitting, large and shapeless. The color is glorious.

You do understand that this is a maternity dress. She was pregnant on both occasions when it was worn, first with the miscarried child and then with Lily. Perhaps there is some significance to wearing it on mother's day.
It is loose, cool for 90 degree weather, one of the Invictus colors, and a perfect foil for the gifted shawl and the governor's head wear.
      If nothing, we are consistent.

There are lots of Sussex squad members on this board. You can see they were in full force working mode. Why is so? Meghan and Harry were on a private tour in Nigeria, she can dress, whatever she wants because she is a private citizen not representing the royal family. Her dresses are good for her as a celebrity which she choose to be one but lack of the elegance and decency as a royal.
