On May 7, 2024, King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark held a reception in honour of their Swedish hosts aboard the Royal Yacht Dannebrog. Swedish King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Princess Christina and Tord Magnuson were present at the reception. The state visit ended with a farewell ceremony at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.

Interesting that both Q. Mary and CP Victoria wore dresses by the same brand. Both dresses are nice, though I might like CP Victoria's a little more. The colours are lighter, prettier and more Spring-like.

All of the ladies have selected beautiful outfits for this final event. I love Queen Mary's and CP Victoria's dresses. All their accessories are perfect for their outfits and both look beautiful. I really cannot see what Queen Silvia has chosen but from I can tell she is her usual elegant self. Princess Sofia's trouser outfit is beautiful but her shoes are hidieous--I hope someone finds them and burns them. All in all this state business has been a real treat and I am excited for the upcoming visit to Norway!

ReplyDeleteHaving seen videos of her walking to and from the reception, I agree, and I too like it very much. She wears it very well and that's highly complementary to the outfit.

Mary, personally it's not my favorite dress, dark and frilly aren't my thing. But as usual she looks polished and appropriate.

Sofia is so short, she needs to be taller, so that the big trousers looks better, that must be the reason why she has this awful shoes!

DeleteThis visit has been very touching because of their warm relationship to each other. I do not care very much what they have on but I have never seen Daniel smiling so much and being so relaxed in the company of the other royals/heads of states.

DeleteI love plateau but how they look depend one the wearer. Sophia suits them very well and when you choose a quality brand they don't look cheap at all. I am 169 cm and I like to wear plateau as well. Personally I would never wear sky-high stilettos with a needle thin heel and pointy toe.
DeleteBob" Sofia is about the same height as Victoria, Silvia and Madeleine over 1.70 cm. She is not short. An average height on a woman is 1,60(5.3'). A woman under 1,65 is considered short.

ReplyDeleteThey are all looking smashing. I think especially Victorias hair is fabulous. However, I don’t love Sofia’s shoes, with platform in the front. She seems to use that kind of shoes often, perhaps problem to wear the kind of shoes that, for example, Victoria and Mary are wearing.
