On March 18, 2024, King Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark held a State Council dinner (Statsrådsmiddag) at Frederik VIII's Palace, Amalienborg. Among the guests were representatives from the government, the Cabinet Secretary and individual employees from the Court. The last State Council dinner was held in 2021 and it was planned to hold a State Council dinner in each election period.

ReplyDeleteWow, a re-wear from 17 years ago, and both Mary and the outfit still look stunning. Refined elegance. The stark and simple black top perfectly balances the fuss of the beautiful beaded pencil skirt, though I wonder if Mary has adjusted the skirt this time round to have less of it trailing behind on the ground. That would be a small improvement to me, making it easier to manage if one has to walk around a lot. But either way Mary looks stunning. In fact they all do. What a lovely group of good looking, well dressed people.

DeleteGreat, Mary can still wear with elegance a 2007 outfit! My suggestion goes to the King, I think his hair should look better, and maybe time has come to get rid of the beard. I think he would look better.

ReplyDeleteWow, QMary looks fantastic (KFred looks good too). I wish I could fit so well into my old outfits! And this one really stands the test of time. So pretty. I hope QMary doesn’t do too much to her face. She doesn’t need it.
ReplyDeleteDid you see her already without make-up ? Maybe if we could see her like that we would be surprised. Don't forget that make-up that is used in a correct and modest way is to make someone's face prettier, less wrinkles to be seen, no darker spots no eyes that look tired.

I think the role of royalty is actually a very much needed. It’s an equalizer to political thought. At least most European royalty. Dictatorships on the other hand, are not sustainable.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning!!! I have always loved this skirt and have hoped to see it again. So happy to see she added pieces of the Ruby Parure to elevate the overall look from CP to Queen. Along with so many others the fact she is wearing something from 17 years ago is amazing and it is even more amazing that she looks even better in the outfit now!

ReplyDeleteWow! a 17 year old outfit. I love the fact Queen Mary recycles her wardrobe and this ensemble looks incredibly good. The various pieces from her Ruby parure are well incorporated with this outfit. The earrings, bracelet and brooch look stunning. All three pieces I love! The black evening top looks superb, the brooch is perfectly placed and adding interest to the black background of her top. The skirt looks glamorous, fits beautifully. Her hair and makeup are on point looking lovely. A beautiful overall presentation.
