I do not care for the busy pattern on Sophie’s dress, but she and Anne look color-coordinated with each other and it is nice to see them hosting an event together.

Both ladies look very good here, and for the first time I like Anne's lovely tailored dress more than Sophies pretty spring floral dress. Speaking of Sophie, since we can't exactly see it in these photos (except in the last photo with the gents in red), would it be too much to hope that she wore her dress at the shorter length as shown on the model? It would look so much better...but I'm not holding my breath.

Yes, her and Anne wore the same length dresses, just below the knees

I so agree with you. In general Sophie shouldn't wear all these long dresses and skirts. She would be so much more elegant and young

I like the cut of Duchess Sophie's dress. Apparently not so long as usual and a lovely pleated skirt and the rest of the dress is beautiful too, except the print which reminds me the aprons my grand mother used to wear.
On the 5th picture there is something strange that comes out of her collar just under her ear. At first I thought it was hair that got loose from her up do, but on this picture it looks like something else but what ? I wouldn't know.
Princess Anne's dress is not bad either. The color suits her and the dress fits well, but why that scarf she wears in her neck ?

I see what you are talking about in the 5th picture under Sophie’s left ear. I also saw it in the 1st picture, but, like you, I can’t figure out from these pictures what it is.

It could be a plastic hair pin (in the same color as her hair) that got loose from the up do..

  7. I think both dresses are sophistcated in their own way. Princess Anne`s is beautifully tailored, a lovely colour and suits her very well. The D of Edinburgh`s has an interesting structure, the floral pattern has a hint of the Orient about it (perhaps there is a connection considering the event is about the Korean War ) the bodice seems to have appliqued flowers down the front .

On the Mary Katranzou webpage,it seems a lot of her designs have sold out.Is it an indication that this type of print is going to be a new trend. I don’t dislike it,but I’ve seen Sophie in prettier dresses.Plus side,it’s knee length and shows of her fabulous legs!

  12. Great to see this hard working pair together. The Princess Royal's dress is a great colour and nice fit. What an enviable figure she has for someone in their mid 70s. Duchess Sophie's dress is a much better length and although the pattern is busy she looks good. Love the pic with the Chelsea pensioners.

Both ladies look wonderful here but I give the fashion win to the Princess Royal. What a gorgeous blue dress! Princess Anne looks marvelous in this color and the fit of the dress is excellent. I like Sophie's dress too but personally the print is a bit too much. Sophie looks great and love the length of the dress--finally a length that is more normal for a day dress than many of her other choices. I like how the ladies seem to have coordinated their colors although I rather doubr they did. Perhaps Anne as the senior lady let Sophie know she was going to wear blue but I can't really see much more than that happening.

  14. Sophie's dress length looks great, it shows her legs off very nicely. It gives a younger vibe to her. Well done to the stylist that change the length this time.
The pattern close is too old, however far, in the full length photo it looks rather elegant with the nude shoes.

Princess Anne has been racking up top marks for a while now, love it! Her dress is beautifully cut and very flattering on her trim figure. Sophie’s dress is a great length, finally at the knee (yay), but I’m not sure about the busy pattern. Maybe it’s better in person rather than photos? But I love this duo and I’m sure the people at these events are thrilled to see them together.

  16. The tailored dress the Princess Royal is wearing looks lovely, the color is pretty. This style of dress suits her well. The brooch placement is perfectly placed, a nice added addition. The Duchess looks lovely in her patterned dress. The length of this dress looks good on the Duchess, I love the pale beige color of her shoes. Its wonderful to see them both together at this event.

I'm not a fan of the shape and pattern of Sophie's dress, but I think it suits her well, even better than on the model. And finally, a dress that is a good length. Maryel
