I give "no" to the dress. The pattern absorbs everything, it is so striking that - metaphorically speaking - it hurts the eyes.

Yes, I agree. A very striking print like this looks better in contrast with a neutral or as a separate. It's too much of a good thing and overwhelming. I can picture the top as a blouse with a red skirt or the bottom as a skirt with a red blouse. It would be so much easier on the eyes.

This is a lovely dress on Mathilde. I love the colour, the busy fabric pattern and the dress style, all of which suit her very well. The photo of her and the dress print, standing in front of the giraffe made me chuckle :)

    2. Yes I am also on the side of positive comments. Unusual pattern but quite esthetic.

  3. C'est peut-être un élégante robe pour Mathilde mais je ne peux pas détacher mon regard des motifs trop envahissants ; avec moins de ces motifs sur fond blanc, elle serait parfaite !

No to the dress, way too busy of a print, too much going. Suza

The dress is pretty. I am trying to figure out which photo had so much glare that bothered Stephanie, but I can't. I looked up Gabriela Hearst. Wow, her success story is amazing and she is into sustainability. Christine

    1. Dear @Christine : Yes Gabriela Hearst is a talented, hard working business woman/designer who is well noted for her philanthropic work with The Save The Children Fund and other charitable organisations.
She is into sustainability in a big way.
She is a high flyer in the international fashion world and is well respected.

  6. This silk satin midi dress looks splendid, though the pattern is a bit strong, the dress fits well, I like the length and design. Her accessory color is perfect with the dress.

Queen Mathilde must be so tired after her trip yet here she is again out and about. I have mixed feelings about the dress--the style is good, I love Mathilde in red, and the fit is good but the pattern is too much, way too much. Mathilde looks reallly good here in spite of that over the top pattern.

Queen Mathilde is visiting this exhibition in Bozar. Bozar is the abbreviation of "Palais des Beaux-Arts, Paleis van Schone Kunsten". Queen Mathilde's is wearing one of her better dresses. A repeated dress from 2020. After the Summer outfits in Cote d'Ivoire this dress in satin give the queen the chic and sophisticated look we are used from her. She has the perfect length to wear this midi dress. The photo with the giraffe is very original. Next week the queen has a full agenda. We will see her several times.

  10. The dress gets a big “like” from me.
It's bright, it’s bold and fits in well with the theme of the exhibition.
    Queen Mathilde wears it well.
Photo N°4 would have to win the prize for the ‘photo of the year’.
p.s. Lots of smiles from the Queen. She seems to be enjoying the exhibition.

I am not too fond of the dress. I find the pattern too busy . Perhaps if the neckline had not been so high or she had used a red belt to break it up it would have been better.

@ Ladyofthemanor. No because if she had worn a belt you could have repeated she is high waisted and better could put the belt away.

The cut and style of the dress is lovely, but the pattern is just too busy.
