On March 27, Japanese Princess Aiko arrived at Yamatoyagi Station in Kashiharai, Nara Prefecture. Princess Aiko visited the mausoleum of Emperor Jinmu in the city of Kashihara, on the second day of her first solo domestic trip. The Princess made a "Tamagushi" Shinto ritual offering at the tomb of Japan's mythical first Emperor to report her graduation from Gakushuin University. Princess Aiko graduated from the university on March 20 and will begin working next month at the Japanese Red Cross Society in Tokyo.

Her jacket for the shrine ceremony reminds me a lot of the Empress Emerita Michiko's signature style of capes and brooches! I think it's the best outfit we've seen so far.

The traditional dress is lovely. The "regular" modern outfit is horrible. I don't care that it's her "work uniform," it's still horrible. I think she is actually borrowing/wearing her mother's clothes instead of the "powers-that-be" providing her with own clothes.
