This is a nice shirt dress with a good flared skirt, but I find it otherwise unremarkable. It fits the Duchess well though, which is saying something. The dark blue and black colours (I cannot see the PoW check) would be more suited for a sombre event, or for an evening occasion perhaps.

Duchess of Edinburgh looks good here. Her hair is lovely and the dress suits her well. Nice shoes too

Very nice dress but she should have opened one or two buttons on the top.

Unfortunately, another lovely dress being worn too long. She has nice legs, so I don't know why she insists on covering them. This dress is more fashionable than some she wears, yet she makes it matronly by wearing it oversized.

Very nice appearance and I like the shirt dress. I think this one would look even better if the collar was slightly smaller and one or two buttons open.

I think you’re right, opening one or two buttons at the top would improve the appearance.

  8. This Navy dress looks smart and stylish. The fit is good and the skirt has plenty of swish! which I love. The shoes are a great color, and I love the color contrast of her clutch. Its great to see her out and about.

I like Sophie very much in general, but unfortunately I think this particular dress looks frumpy on her. Her earrings look interesting, although it is hard to see much of them in these pictures.

These kind of dresses doesn't appeal to me. Too matronly, too dark, too long. I cannot see the Prince of Wales checks on my screen and there is not enough contrast between the blue and the black anyway. It is also time she changes her hairstyle. It is not beautiful anymore. A little bun in the neck is not very attractive.

  11. Belle allure dans cette robe bleu-marine même si légèrement trop longue à mes yeux ; j'aurais aimé mieux voir ses boucles d'oreilles pendantes ?!

Sophie always radiates calmness and good humor. A real lady. However, I would advise her to add other accessories to this navy dress - a belt of a bolder color and a different handbag.

  13. I think Duchess Sophie made a good choice for the event.
In a recent fashion magazine published in January 2024, they had this to say about maxi dresses/skirts. ……
“Maxi dresses exude an air of fashion effortlessness.
Designs that can embody their easygoing elegance, making them the perfect choice for both casual outings and formal events in 2024.”
They also used expressions such as “quiet luxury look” “old money look”

    2. Dear Anon 08:16.
It was an “E” version of an on-line fashion magazine.
I didn’t save it but I’ll go back and see if I can find it.
I didn’t use the name of the magazine in my comment as it could cause Helen copyright or publicity problems.
Also, it is a magazine that asks for a subscription.
I didn't pay a subscription as most of the promoted articles were of no interest to me.

Sophie looks wonderful here! Love her in a simple shirtwaist--very flattering and her updo adds a note of sophistication.
