I do love this dress. The orange of the shoes and clutchbag gives a lovely splash of colour. Lovely

Nice, functional outdoor wear. Not easy to be fashionable in bad weather. I like the camel coloured jacket she has on under.
My favourite is the pretty skirt worn with a simple white blouse. Never really liked the Saloni dress. It is the shoulder-ads and the draping that bothers me. I would have liked a better fitted style. The print is pretty.

Absolute stunner of an evening frock; but my favourite royal look is always the dressed down natural casual look where I think we see royals at their happiest . - AnneLise

  5. Beautiful dress, i like moments when she dresses like a lady instead of a tom boy, she looks gorgeous, if only she would free her hair, even in a ponytail

I have a theory that she keeps a bun for ALL professional occasions in order that she can literally let her hair down and be just herself when she’s out of the public eye. She had a hard start into public life and I think she’s developed this as a differentiator to help mark her own life versus public life. And I thoroughly admire her for it as I think it’s a very simple and very clever strategy! You heard it here first … - AnneLise

Interesting point AnneLise and you could well be right. I know of several friends and work colleagues (women and men) who use similar tactics in their clothing and grooming to differentiate between public and personal life.
Another possible reason could be that the low neck bun is just plain easier to manage her hair while giving a neat, professional look that covers all situations despite being somewhat boring. No time wasted on fuss.

AnneLise, she suffers from prosopagnosi, no reason for theories.

I can only guess, of course, but it could be that wearing a bun all the time for official duties is easier and neater for her hair, which appears quite thick and prone to frizzing easily (I can relate, the struggle is real!). It also gives her a consistent, professional appearance, analogous to Queen Margrethe’s, Queen Elizabeth II’s unchanging hairstyles.

I like her dress by Saloni very much. I also like her other outfits on this trip. The only thing I would change is the waist of her dress. Cannot see it very well, but is it a paperbag waist ? If so, that must be the reason I don't like the finish of the waist

I like both outfits - skirt and dress are beautiful. Orange accessories are a pleasant revival of the outfit. Maybe I'm repeating myself, but I'm bored with Victoria's hairstyle, Still the same boring style - hair tied in a simple knot. (The same one I wear when cleaning my house to keep my hair from falling into my face). I can imagine her with loose hair, with waves, even a shorter cut would be chic.

She will never have waves in her hair since she has natural little curls when her hair is loose. Of course a good hair stylist can make her a beautiful hairstyle each time she must appear in public, but I think she simply doesn't which to take time to let her hair do. I bet she doesn't have a hairdresser with her and she does it herself. If you take a look at picture N° 6, the hair in her neck is not razed either, a good hairdresser would never leave a hairdo unfinished like that.

Maybe Victoria likes wearing her hair that way? That would be a pretty valid reason for wearing it like that eh?! Sorry you’re bored!! (Grace)

Ok, I live here in the San Francisco Bay Area and this is the first I've heard of this visit. There has been absolutely no coverage on our local news stations (or national for that matter)! >:( None! Wow. I wish I could give you guys extras about the visit but apparently I will only be getting updates by visiting this site. :(

Fashion wise, I do like the skirt.

PS, sorry about the weather your royal highnesses. :)

Their visit is right in the middle of a MAJOR storm system passing through the Bay Area - as you all can see from some of the outdoor photos. It's been rough by our California standards.

CP Victoria looks spot on. She always puts her best foot forward. She is a great Representative for Sweden. It seems there are no tents and whatever. No sun either. Well I hope both have a fun and save time in California. css

She is the only representative for Sweden with her parents getting older and her father already had problems with his hart. Her daughter is too young and her sister is living in Florida. Her brother and Princess Sofia are busy with their work in Sweden, but to go on an important visit abroad and as she is the CP, she is the only one that can go.

Dear Stephanie, If you are bored with Princess Victoria‘s hairstyle, I suggest you write to the palace or simply skip these photos. We all know by now that she has frizzy hair just like Princess Anne and prefers to simplify certain aspects of her very busy life with two young children and numerous other duties.
