    1. Prince Albert doesn't look attractive ; no tie and the rest isn't any better. Come on Prince Albert. Congrats to Charlene, but again a different hair color !?

Well, prince Alexander wears a Trachtenjacke, interesting for the occasion, but not bad.

I think it's totally fine for men to not wear ties. It's a phallic symbol. They're usually not straight even though there are pins/clips to hold them in place. Must be uncomfortable at times to wear a tie. Prince Daniel's knots are pathetic. I think it looks fine & it must be a liberating feeling to not have to wear one. |Melanie|

People who are related to sport clubs, sport gala's, sports in general often prefer not to wear a tie when meeting on events. Apparently the dress code was no tie, because nobody wears one.

Ja Trachtenjacken sind auch als Abendkleidung akzeptiert. Eine nette Abwechslung, mal über Herrenmode zu plaudern...

Apparently Prince Daniel is becoming the new victim of this kind of people who always find to say something negative, about the same royals on this blog. As he accompanies CP Victoria very often, he risks more than other male royals the chance to receive negative criticism.

Ouffff … in this case, noting the venue (French ski resort Courchavel with its own high altitude airport), all I can reflect on is the climate toll of 200 guests flying in by helicopter and private jet for the evening. For “charity”? On one hand the very rich may donate well, but on the other hand this type of event is so luxurious and so expensive, I wonder what it’s really worth. - AnneLise

I like Princess Charlene's outfit. The same fabric (black tweed with a kind of silver incorporated fiber ?) has been used as for the jacket of Princess Sofia of Sweden at the ceremony in the castle's chapel.

I have noticed in Monaco the royals are not given a bouquet of flowers like they do in other countries unless they did so earlier! FITZHUGH

They are not in Monaco but in the French Ski resort Courchevel. It is a meeting of all the rich and famous, why would they give bouquets of flowers to each other ? In other countries it is in general a little boy or a little girl who is offering a bouquet when a queen or princess is visiting a school, charity work, a gala when a son or daughter of the organizing committee is offering a bouquet, etc...

Re-read my comment and you will see that I did not specify the event that was held in Courchevel was the only time I have noticed flowers were not given. There have been other events that flowers were not given. Although I am sure there were many rich and famous people. There were also royals there. They were Prince Alexander and his wife Princess Astrid Barbara of Lichtenstein and the Gala was to benefit The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation as well as the ski resort. So giving flowers would have been just fine. As for children giving flowers adults also give flowers. Have you ever noticed when the Danish Royal family attend the opening of Parliament it is adults that give the royal ladies flowers. Anonymous I thought you might want to know the correct facts since what you wrote was incorrect! FITZHUGH

What I wrote was not incorrect. I wrote "in other countries it is in GENERAL a little boy or girl who is offering a bouquet". I did not say it is ALWAYS a child that is offering flowers. I know that sometimes young ladies are offering flowers to a queen too and in some countries the queen receives more flowers than in other. These are facts too.
