I don’t find the pale grey colour particularly flattering but the dress does fit well. (V.M.)

When there is No News from the Famous Royals, unknown Royals fill the gap.

I am unpleasantly surprised that news about the Brunei royal family is published on this website.
I will just briefly remind you that Brunei is a monarchy where the Sultan and royal family have absolute power, the parliament has not been convened for more than 60 years. Brunei's Sharia-based law discriminates against women and various LGBT minorities. Homosexuality is illegal in Brunei, sexual relations are punishable by death or whipping or caning; non-muslims are restricted in their faith
... and here we happily discuss what the members of the Brunei royal family are wearing and what - in my opinion - tacky opulent fancy jewelry and gems they are wearing . Why the double standard? Because Brunei is rich country (thanks the fact that it literally lies on oil)? Yes, I know this blog is not about politics but about fashion, but the facts about Brunei cannot be overlooked. I refuse to discuss about fashion of royals of such country.

    3. Dear Stephanie. You have just given a small insight into this country, thank you.
There are a lot more (negative) points that could be added.
I respect that this is a fashion blog so I’ll just pass on.
      Next please …….

Every country is different. I suppose the current long-standing situation in Brunei works for the people, who do enjoy a lot of benefits from their oil-rich economy. There's good & bad everywhere. |Melanie|

I agree with Stephanie. I do not wish to give my opinion on their fashion choices (although women have not much rights in these countries, it is not their fault). I cannot stand that there are still people in this world, in 2024 whose freedom is systematically taken away.

I also appreciate the photos, and for showing us other royal houses/families around the world that we rarely or never get to see or to know about.
