  1. Charlène est magnifique dans cette robe de soirée en velours Bordeaux ; si j'ai bien vu ses boucles d'oreilles pendantes, elles ont un petit air de ressemblance avec un modèle porté par la reine Mathilde ; toujours très bien maquillée !

Right...and where is the speeches from King Philippe, Felipe, Harald, Charles and Carl Gustaf? If we mention one or two we should mention all.

They dont all do new years messages. Some do just the xmas speech (charles), others itsnot part of their tradition

Was there fashion to critique? That is the point here. I have seen a couple of them, and their wives were not present.

Carl Gustaf always gives a Christmas speech

I know they delivered their speech on christmas, but I guess you guys didn't take the point. So next year only Albert will be mentioned since Charlene has a dress on...20:06 so you are only here to critique outfits? Really? There is soemthing wrong with us if we are only out to critique a fellow human being. This is a royal blog, so then what they do and say should also be mentioned. And none of the Kings holding speeches during chritmas or new year has been mentioned on this blog. For years we have seen Elisabeth's and Margrethe's speech has been repeated word for word, but not the mens because they are not wearing a dress and that is to stupid. One for all if they wear a dress or a suit.

There is no difference between a speech that is given at Christmas or at New Year. It is the content of the speech that counts. All the speeches of all the kings and queens of Europe has been broadcasted on television, you tube, instagram, etc... No need to repeat it on a fashion blog (not even when a queen consort or a princess is appearing next to her husband).

14:30 but still this blog every year told us what Elisabeth and Margrethe said in their speeches, but not one of the Kings.

Beautiful bordeaux color for Princess Charlene long velvet dress. However the cut of this dress does not fit P Charlene, she looks broader than she is because the bodice is too tight.

I wish the princely family of Monaco would put a little more effort into these official messages and appearances.

Monaco is one of the oldest monarchies in Europe, and yet the cold lighting and the absolutely tacky Christmas decorations makes it look as if we're looking at a low budget Lifetime movie, not a beautiful palace with so much history. Their annual photos are not much better, somehow I think they could afford a good photographer. Just look at the amazing work of Matt Porteous with the Prince and Princess of Wales.

I hope you don’t mean the royals should emulate the PPW. Amazing work at staging their appearance. As far as decorating that is personal preference. Clothes wise I much prefer Princess Charlene’s choices, more flattering to her figure.

    3. Perhaps it is due to their target group - Monaco's business model is tax evasion and gambling.

      Delete
    4. Some people would prefer to call it "Tax Management".
And gambling, well that's everywhere. 😁.
Don't have to go to Monaco to get involved in that.
Just go to you newsagent's shop and you have a big choice of "scratch cards" that you can burn your money on.

@deadeggs. One can hardly compare the "scratch cards" with the casino's in Monte-Carlo.

Anonymous @ 10:19. I’ve always understood this blog to be about fashion, and sometimes meandering into other subjects, I can’t imagine anybody visiting this site to debate the merits of speeches and/or political issues in any depth. I would humbly suggest other publications for that sort of endeavors, perhaps you won’t be as disappointed with the comments.
I love this dress, is elegant, sober and has a very original cut, Charlene looks fabulous, however I don’t seem to remember her being so busty 😉.
As a final note, I want to wish you all, a most prosperous 2024, filled with happiness and good health.
    Regards
    Cherry

Dear deadeggs, whatever she's going to wear, she'll look fabulous. Maybe something along the lines of the Brits? Do you have a favorite? Mine would be navy-blue. We'll see and in the meantime we'll have a jolly good time. Lucy
