Her hair styled in this way is exquisite and she looks great in this shade of blue.

Agree, elegant, sober and fitting for the occasion.

Yes to the colour, updo, blouse and earrings, but that pair of trousers is a total miss for me: too long, wide, shiny (although festive) and high up the queen's waist

I agree the colour is beautiful but the velvet shiny pants is a no, no. I saw photos of her outfit on another site and the pants look awful.

    3. Après avoir agrandi la photo des boucles d'oreilles pendantes, je me suis mise à aimer leur style combinant les topaze et les perles ; Mathilde les a très bien choisies pour aller avec son ensemble !

The velvet fabric of the pants looks like the fabric of Queen Camilla's green velvet dress she was wearing early December 2023 when receiving children at Clarence House for one of her charity works she supports.
I like this petrol blue color a lot. But I must admit Queen Mathilde has better pants/top ensembles. I like her hair, make-up and earrings.

  6. Quelle merveilleuse couleur qui va bien avec sa blondeur mais je ne suis pas du tout pour ce noeud Lavallière qui cache trop le haut de son chemisier !

  7. In case you are wondering who the other lady is in the photo with Queen Mathilde, it is Madame Ursula von der Leyen.
She is a German politician and the president of the European Commission.
She is 65 years old and the mother of 7 children.
During her life and studies to be a medicine she gave birth to her children.
Her medical studies were over a period of 7 years.
She is labelled as a workaholic. Her husband is a medicine.
Fashion wise, her uniform is usually, black pants and a fashion jacket.
Not often seen wearing a dress or skirt.
Similar to the uniform of the former chancellor of Germany, Angla Merkle.
Madame Von der Leyen is always impeccably presented with a well groomed hairdo and perfect makeup.
Vogue magazine did an interesting article on her in their April 2021 edition.
Not so much about fashion but about her life and work as a President in a male dominated workforce.
I think fashion is a very low priority on her list of “likes”.
In 2018, she campaigned hard to have same sex marriages legalised in Germany.

      Dear @ Deadeggs,
thank you for the information about Frau von der Leyen.
      Much appreciated.
      I like her a lot ,.
She is elegant, cultuvated, professional and determined.
As to Q.Mathilde: she looks to be wearing a jumpsuit if seen from afar but I think it's a combo blouse+ flared pants.
      This blue shade is sublime.

I think this is one off the less nice outfit Q Mathilde piked for this important event. The pant looks to shiny. Ursula van der Layen is wearing a dress this is a seldom occurrence, she always has the same style as Angela Merkel, Pants only different color blazers css

The high-necked blouse combined with the high-waisted pants does not look flattering on Mathilde to me. Her earrings are very interesting. The back of her updo is quite pretty. I have wondered how she would look if her hairstyle, specially in front, were less structured/layered/hairsprayed in general. Sometimes I think her hair makes her look much older than she is.

There are pictures of Queen Mathilde when she was younger with her hair flat against her head. I must say I didn't find it a good look for her. Not every woman can wear long hair with a side part or a separation in the middle. Queen Mathilde's hair has the right length to make an updo now and then (sometimes with the help of an hairpiece). I think her hairstyle suits her. Her "structured/layered/hair sprayed" style like you call it, is more natural than you think. When she has to do a visit on a very windy day, QM's hair does not stay in place, but flies up and down and is not hair sprayed at all.

The hairdo, complete outfit the Queen is wearing is beautiful. I cannot quite figure out the colour, as it shows in photos 1 and 2, different shades of the outfit. which does happen when photographs are taken in different lighting situations. It would have been nice to have seen more photos, as well as know for sure if it was a long skirt, or a pair of wide pants. Whatever it was, the entire outfit was just outstanding and the Queen looked in her element and chic. Edwina
