On the occasion of the new year, Belgium's King Philippe and Queen Mathilde held a New Year's reception for members of the diplomatic corps (ambassadors and consuls) accredited in Brussels. The traditional reception took place on January 11, 2024 at the Castle of Laeken.

Initial reaction "QM looks magnificent in this dress', but then I started to wonder whether or not there's too much fabric in de skirt ... She looks good anyhow.

ReplyDeleteLovely repeated dress from the Christmas concert in 2022. After I looked it up at "Garderobe royale" the dress fits better now than in 2022. Queen Mathilde lost weight lately maybe that's why her dress fits better, unless she brought it back to the designer to make some corrections.

@Rosella. CP Elisabeth is at Oxford university to continue her studies History and Politics. She can only be present during the holidays and since Christmas holidays are over yet it is logic that she returned to Oxford.
DeleteQueen Mathilde looks fabulous. Her hair, her earrings, and the dress are beautiful. I also appreciate how King Philippe matched his tie to her dress. Very nice appearance.

ReplyDeleteLovely dress in a great colour which really suits Queen Mathilde. It looks like her dress does not have the same very high neckline as the model but it would benefit from being still lower. She looks lovely here.

She looks beautiful. The dress however seems to have a fit problem? from the waist down, the flow of the dress and seemingly bulky look? The color is splendid. I love the accessories color.

DeleteFor a Natan creation, the dress is quite lovely, except, the skirt has way too much material swirling around the Queen. One must wonder, how heavy this garment is to wear. Edwina
