On December 20, 2023, King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel participated in the 2023 formal gathering of the Swedish Academy held at the Stock Exchange Building in Stockholm. The royals were welcomed by the Swedish Academy's permanent secretary Mats Malm and the academy's director Ingrid Carlberg on arrival.
At the end of every year, the Swedish Academy holds a traditional gathering at the Stock Exchange Building. The Academy was founded in 1786 by King Gustaf III for the purpose of supporting the Swedish language and Swedish literature. It has determined the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature since 1901.

Both ladies look very good here. I would have chosen a drop earring for CPV to balance the wide neckline, but that’s a small quibble. QS’s lovely pearls are an excellent choice against the shiny fabric of her dress. (V.M.)

ReplyDeleteKönigin Silvia ist schwer erkennbar, das Kleid ließ mich aufschrecken auf den ersten Blick wirkt es wie Latex?! Ihr schönes Haar wirkt hier eher schwarz und nicht sehr hübsch - das Kleid von Prinzessin Viktoria sieht festlich aus, vielleicht findet sich für sie doch noch ein Friseur der mehr kann als Dutt stecken, noch ist die Prinzessin so jung für flottes Hairstyling und noch dazu bei diesem wunderschönen Haar - das liebe ich an Prinzessin Catherine so sehr, ein Geschenk Gottes solche Haare das macht Prinzessin Madeleine wesentlich besser. -Dorothe-
ReplyDeleteIch glaube, das mit den "schwarzen" Haaren ist dem Licht geschuldet. Sie haben recht mit dem Wunsch, Victorias Haarpracht einmal offen sehen zu wollen. Sicher wissen Sie, dass das immer wieder Thema ist hier auf dem Blog. Manche Leserinnen vermuten, dass es Victoria einfach zu sehr stört, wenn ihr die Haare ins Gesicht fallen. Einmal war sie mit Seitenscheitel und offenem Haar zu sehen, mit einer großen Blüte hinter dem einen Ohr. Sie sah umwerfend aus!
DeleteBoth couples look nice, although I think Sylvia looks best in that navy sparkle dress! The pearls are not a good match in my opinion but it’s a small nit. As for Victoria, the combo of color, neckline and hair updo do not flatter her this time. I also wish she would wear lipstick to brighten her beautiful face.

ReplyDeleteI like CP Victoria's dress in deep green velvet. I looks like my pc always shows the right color. To me i.e. queen Silvia's lame dress looks dark blue. CP Victoria could have worn white golden, silver, or diamond earrings to create a bit contrast with the dress. I don't like Queen Silvia's necklace. It does not look made of classic pearls to me. There is nothing that matches : bracelet in yellow gold, pearl earrings I think, white golden or silver brooch.

ReplyDeleteTrès bien vêtues toutes les deux mais la robe de Victoria est vraiment trop foncée ; dans un velours de couleur, elle serait superbe et surtout en égayant ses oreilles par de la couleur blanche !

ReplyDeleteI think that the dress code for this event is dark colors, so the respective dresses are not a surprise. I share the view that Qn Silvia's hair color is darker than what we have seen recently, although it is always hasardous to judge colors on pictures.
