On December 24, 2023, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima released their Christmas 2023 card. The photo on the card showing together King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima, Crown Princess Amalia, Princess Alexia and Princess Ariane, and their dog Mambo. The photo was taken on June 30, 2023 by Mischa Schoemaker. The message on the card reads "Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous new year".

Yes all turned out to be tall and stunning and may they find happy and content lives. I think the recent winter photos were from a media call, on the basis that the family promise some family pics from one session in return for the media leaving them alone everywhere except official events. The Christmas card was probably organised much earlier and sent out in very good timing! Merry Christmas. - AnneLise

ReplyDeleteLike so many families they choose for their Christmas card a picture of their summer photo shoot before the holidays began. The photoshoot of a couple of days ago in their coats before the palace is what it is, a photoshoot in the Winter season not a Christmas card.

This is not a X-mas card but a summer card, no christmas tree in sight or other elements which reminds me of this Holy feast. -Anna-

Well just like the Belgian royal family with all the children being students in colleges, universities, abroad and some taking a gap year abroad it is difficult to make a picture just before Christmas, with the Christmas tree, and Christmas colors and symbols if they are not at home yet. To have their cards ready before Christmas they have to choose pictures on which the whole family is complete but were made earlier this year.
