Marina Rinaldi ((Max Mara) is a great brand for plus-size women.
    Always tasteful.
She should stick to that because it suits her!

Anonymous 14:21 the expression “plus size women” is unnecessary here for a young woman just finding herself in the world. She looks fantastic here. What a massive expectation there must be on her, from family and a whole nation. I hope she’s well supported and finds a happy route through the expectations but also joy of her role. - AnneLise

      Shame on you.
You should worry about your body and bad manners.

I just want to add that anyone can go on a diet and lose weight.
On the contrary , bad manners cannot be corrected that easily , especially when you get an elderly woman.
Pss Amalia has surely been brought up in the most gracious , impeccable and pleasant way and would never behave like you do.
      She Is a CLASSY lady.
Hope you' ll understand what I mean.

    5. AnneLise, I do agree with every word. I was wondering that "little insult" too. Was it really necessary?
Catharina-Amalia looks lovely in this suit and her hair looks fabulous and healthy. She is a very beautiful young lady.

    6. Like AnneLise I think, Princess Amalia looks wonderful here. Can't see why the original comment is insulting or bad mannered. Merely states a fact that Marina Rinaldi suits people who are a certain shape. It's not criticising Princess Amalia in any way.

@AnnieM You don't see how rude it is to speak of a young woman's weight ("plus-size")? Why is it alright to discuss any woman's body? If she chooses to speak about it publicly, that is her choice and her business. It is not anyone else's business.

    8. P. the original 12.33 "Plus size women" Words fail me. Isn't it appalling that bloggers feel the need to mention any womans shape? Thank you for articulating so well in your response, my own thoughts! I don't need to add to your eloquent views. Pss Amalia is outstanding.
      P. S. Hope you are well, and all is fine in your neck of the woods. Take good care.

The jacket fits beautifully and really flatters her shape. I think she looks lovely here. (V.M.)

I think this is a very lovely picture for the Crown Princess. Timeless, simple, but the gravitas of a future Head of State. Happy Birthday!

Over-photoshopped, which was unnecessary. Princess Amalia is a beauty and is gaining a presence, without having to artificially emphasize anything. S.M.

@S.M. Could you educate all of us about what you notice that is over Photoshopped? I know that every professional portrait or photo is touched up in post. That is a given. My son is a professional photographer. I have seen a lot of bad Photoshop over the years, but I cannot see what it over Photoshopped in this portrait. It can't be her skin because she is only 20, so there are no wrinkles to smooth out. I must be missing it. Thanks!

I must be the odd duck out on these photos. Her standing position looks extremely stiff and un-natural and have to wonder how much photo-shopping was done with the arms or jacket. Edwina

  12. How rude to refer to PLUS SIZE WOMEN. She is a young woman trying to find her confidence in this world with cruel jibes and you have to bring this up, shame. She looks very elegant in this pant suit, it is not fussy just simple and elegant. Happy Birthday.

I don’t think it’s rude. It’s just a fact. I’m plus-size and I’m more bothered by your comment because it indicates a negative attitude about weight. Giving advice on nice plus-size brands is welcome !

      But it i s a plus-size brand and a very elegant one.
She has chosen it herself and looks great.
How can that be a problem?

    3. Anonymous9/12/23 05:18

Not everyone who is plus-sized is comfortable with their weight. It has nothing to do with having a negative attitude about weight. It has everything to do with assuming that everyone that is plus-sized celebrates their size. That is not the case. We don't know how Amalia feels, but her shy tendencies do hint that she may be self conscious about her body. The best practice is to only discuss our own bodies and stop deciding other people are "too" underweight or overweight, "too" tall or short, "too" tan or pale, etc.

@Anon 5 18. If you said it’s a brand for fat people then I could see the potential for offence ( though I understand there’s a group of young women who have decided that they are proud to be fat 🫢) but plus size means bigger than average. It’s a polite description. I don’t understand your problem with it at all

Lovely photo, suit fits well and looks good on this pretty princess. My only negative is the drawn in eyebrows, not just on this princess but all others. I personally dont like the exaggerated heavy brows that seems to be in fashion.

Let us not forget that the ladies of the Dutch court, including the former Queen Beatrix and her sisters, also Queen Wilhelm and others, were quite stout when they were younger and probably went on radical diets. Princess Amalia seems to have inherited this tendency to put on weight. However, I think she has a lovely face and looks very pretty in her own special way.
